UConn is rewarding head coach Dan Hurley for the amazing job he has done with the Huskies, including leading them to a national title this past season. Hurley will reportedly receive a new and improved contract that makes him one of the highest-paid coaches in college basketball.

John Fanta of Fox Sports reports that Hurley will ink a six-year, $33 million deal that keeps him with UConn through the 2028-29 season. He can also earn more money if he meets various incentives.

Hurley took over the UConn Huskies in 2018 and has managed to restore the program’s former glory in the years that followed. Under Hurley’s guidance, Huskies made the NCAA tournament in each of the past three years and won it in a dominant fashion in 2023. He has an overall record of 104–55.

Prior to coming to UConn, Dan Hurley established himself as a respected program builder with Wagner and Rhode Island. He had particularly impressive results with the Rams, where he went 113–82 in six years and made the Round of 32 at the NCAA tournament twice.

UConn is expected to be one of the teams to beat next season as well. They have a No. 4 recruiting class in the nation and several players from the championship roster returning for another run.
