There is definitely no love lost between Miami Dolphins’ star wideout Tyreek Hill and New England Patriots fans.
After the Dolphins wrapped up their Sunday Night Football clash against the Pats with a 24-18 win, Hill was seen waving goodbye to the opposing fans. Then, during a locker room interview, the 29-year-old player took a swipe at New England’s supporters, calling them “some of the worst fans” in the league.
“It felt tremendous. Those fans are some of the worst fans in the NFL, and I’m gonna stand on that,” said Hill when asked about how it felt to get a win at Gillette Stadium. “Because they are real nasty. And some of the things that they were saying, I wouldn’t say in church. So, yeah, it felt great to wave goodbye to the fans, and I’ll do it again. Bye.”
Hill entered the 2023 campaign with an explosive performance in Week 1 that saw him get 11 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns. However, he was a lot more quiet against the Pats, managing only five catches for 40 yards and one touchdown.
Minimizing Hill’s impact was one of New England’s goals for the game, as they hoped it might slow down Miami’s offense. However, other Dolphins’ receivers stepped up in key moments and propelled the team to a win, which seems to be the most important thing for Hill.
“To come in here in a tough environment, to win a game like this on a Sunday night, it feels good — especially the way this team played, the way this team battled through adversity,” he added.
