Third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who is considered as the top prospect in all of baseball, is just days away from making his MLB debut. Toronto Blue Jays announced on Wednesday that Guerrero has been called up to the majors and will probably play in the upcoming game vs. Oakland Athletics on Friday.

Guerrero played 95 games in 2018 and batted .381 while hitting 20 home runs and 78 RBIs. The 20-year-old followed that up with .367 batting average, three home runs, and eight RBIs in eight games he played with Triple-A Buffalo this season.

“It’s a big, big moment for the Toronto Blue Jays,” – said Blue Jays’ manager Charlie Montoyo. “Hopefully he becomes what everybody thinks he’s gonna become, and that’s gonna be good for all of us — for Toronto, the city of Toronto, the Blue Jays, the organization.”

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., son of Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero, signed a $3.9 million contract with Blue Jays in 2015 as an international free agent. He made his professional debut in the minors in 2016 with Bluefield Blue Jays and since played for several Toronto’s affiliates.

Guerrero was a favorite to make Blue Jays’ majors roster following spring training but ended up returning to minors after a strained oblique.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
