Before this season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hadn’t made it to the postseason in 13 years and hadn’t won a playoff game in 19 years. Last season, they had a losing record. But then quarterback Tom Brady joined the team, and they’re now in the Super Bowl.
If that doesn’t spell out to you how good he is, perhaps nothing will. Well, perhaps a Super Bowl victory might do it. Good thing he only needs one more win to do it.
Brady was throwing dimes on Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers, leading his Bucs to a 31-26 victory. With this win, Tampa Bay will be the first time ever to play the Super Bowl game on their home field, since the game is set to be played at Raymond James Stadium.
Brady wasn’t perfect against the Packers, but he did enough exceptional things to cement the victory like he’s done so many times in the past. He made some super clutch plays, including a 51-yard hail mary touchdown throw to Scotty Miller which gave his team a 21-10 lead at the half. By the end of the game, Brady had 280 yards and three touchdowns.
“Tom’s the GOAT. Last year I think we ended 7-9, and now we’re heading to the Super Bowl,” said Miller about his quarterback. “He’s at the helm. He’s our leader. He’s probably the biggest reason we are where we are.”
However, Brady still needs to lead his team past the formidable Kansas City Chiefs if he wants yet another ring.
