Tom Brady Impressed with Jimmy Garoppolo’s Success

Tom Brady likes the way Jimmy Garoppolo plays for 49ers.

Jimmy Garoppolo was supposed to be the heir to Tom Brady, and the new franchise quarterback for the New England Patriots. But as it turned out, Brady wanted to play for longer than anyone guessed, and Garoppolo didn’t want to waste his time on the bench, so the Patriots shipped him to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a second-round draft pick.

With the 49ers, Garoppolo showed that he is worth well above a second-round pick with four wins in his four starts, which even got Brady impressed.

He’s done a great job. You go in there and get the opportunity to play and win games, that’s what we’re all here for,” – said Brady while speaking to sports radio WEEI. “It was good to see, and good for them to beat Jacksonville [on Sunday]. That certainly helped us. I’m really happy for Jimmy. He’s worked really hard and it shows up when he goes out there and plays really well.

Thanks to Jimmy Garoppolo’s efforts in the 49ers Sunday’s win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New England Patriots have clinched their eighth straight first-round bye.
Tom Brady then discussed the way Garoppolo’s success influenced the Patriots.

I think it’s really a credit to him.” – Brady continued. “You do what you can with the opportunities you get. I think it’s great for any player and anyone who has been in the Patriots’ system to watch how the coaches prepare the players. There is obviously a high standard and high expectations for us any time you take the field.

With Garoppolo out of the way, Brady could finally get his wish fulfilled and play until he is 45 years-old. Although that may sound like a nonsense at first, the way he has been playing lately, it may not be the worst thing for the Patriots.
