Tennessee Titans received some great news ahead of meeting their biggest rivals, Jacksonville Jaguars, on Sunday. Their Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan is out of concussion protocol and is cleared to play against Jags. Lewan suffered a concussion in Week 1 against Miami Dolphins and was inactive in Week 2.
“Taylor is ready to go. He’s cleared and will be playing again. Anybody that we can get back is a boost,” – said Titans’ coach Mike Vrabel.
Taylor Lewan was limited in practice on Wednesday but participated in full on Thursday and Friday. He will be a valuable addition to the Titans’ offensive line on Sunday, especially since they will be facing one of the top defenses in the NFL.
“I feel good. I wouldn’t have passed the protocol if I didn’t. I have a wife and kid. I don’t want to be that guy who is 45 years old and don’t know my name.” – said Lewan about his recovery.
Lewan might not be the only returning player for Tennessee Titans on Sunday since the team’s starting QB Marcus Mariota might also be ready to play. Mariota suffered an elbow injury in the game against the Dolphins and is currently listed as questionable.
“It is probably going to take the next 24 hours to make a decision,” – said Vrabel of Mariota’s chances to play. “It is pretty much the same as it’s been since Wednesday. A little bit of improvement since last week.”
