League sources revealed that the Tennessee Titans informed Derrick Henry that they do not plan to trade him before the upcoming deadline. This comes after the team received inquiries about the Pro Bowl running back from numerous teams.
While Henry is believed to be a highly valuable player to the Titans, it would not make much sense for the team to seek a trade for him given that his contract expires at the end of the season. Furthermore, the would-be free agent is set to earn $6.4 million over the rest of the season; a steep financial requirement for teams to meet.
On the off chance that a trade deal is pursued, an agreement would have to be in place before the end of Monday as the other team involved would most likely look to launch a counteroffer to save on their salary cap.
