Tennessee Titans kicker Stephen Gostkowski was having one of the worst nights of his great career, missing four straight kick attempts in the Titans’ Sunday night game against the Denver Broncos.

However, a night that started off as a disaster turned into a victory, with Gostkowski kicking a 25-yard field goal with 17 seconds left in the game to give the Titans a 16-14 victory.

Gostkowski’s performance was so bad at the beginning of the game that after missing three field-goal tries and one point-after attempt, his kicking percentage took such a beating that he fell from being the 5th most accurate kicker in NFL history all the way down to seventh in just one game.

Gostkowski has been kicking for 15 years, winning three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots while playing in a total of six. The 36-year-old has never had a game in which he missed three field-goal attempts.

On Sunday night, he missed from 47 and 42 yards and had a 44-yard attempt blocked.

Additionally, the veteran kicker has now missed point-after attempts in four straight games.

Gostkowski underwent hip surgery this offseason after being released by the Patriots. Tenessee signed him to a one-year deal worth $2.75 million.
