It seems that the Detroit Tigers aren’t meant to be for veteran pitcher Zack Godley. According to Associated Press, Tigers released Godley for the second time this season.

Godley initially joined the Tigers on a minor league contract in December and was supposed to be part of the team’s Spring Training roster. The 30-year-old pitcher was then released in March, before rejoining the organization on a minor-league pact shortly after that.

Now, however, it appears that the release is final. According to Tigers’ general manager Ron Gardenhire, the organization wanted to give Godley more time to find a new team ahead of the 2020 MLB season resume.

Zack Godley spent the majority of his time in majors with Arizona Diamondbacks, with whom he had his MLB debut in 2015. During his four and a half years with Diamondbacks, Godley had 81 starts and a 36-30 record. He posted a 4.70 ERA and had 502 strikeouts.

After being designated for assignment by Arizona in late 2019, Godley was claimed off waivers by Toronto Blue Jays. He played one game in Toronto, getting a win and pitching 3.94 ERA with 12 strikeouts.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
