Speaking in front of media for the first time since he had back surgery in April, Tiger Woods said he isn’t sure whether he will be able to play golf professionally again. “I don’t know what my future holds for me” – said Woods at a news conference at Liberty National in advance of the Presidents Cup.

Woods said he will take his time with the recovery process and added he is feeling great when it comes to his health.

I don’t know what 100 percent means after eight surgeries, but I’ll try and get as close as I can to that number. But as I said, we just take it one step at a time. It’s a process, and I’m in no hurry. As far as my health, I’m feeling great.

Still, it looks like Woods’ surgeon will have the final word in regard to him getting back to golf.

I’ve been out of the game for a while. First thing’s first – get my health organized. Make sure the pain goes away. Then, basically, just keep waiting for what my surgeon says. I’m still training. I’m getting stronger. But I certainly don’t have my golf muscles trained because obviously, I’m not doing anything golf-related.

Due to his battle with back injury, Tiger Woods didn’t play in the Major championships for last two years. After a 15 months break from competitive golf, Woods returned in December of 2016 and played three tournaments. At the same time, he expressed his desire to break Jack Nicklaus’s record of 18 major titles despite winning his last Major championship at the U.S. Open in 2008. Still, in early 2017, Woods struggled with the back injury again and missed 2017 Masters Tournament despite being cleared by the doctors. In April, in order to alleviate pain, Woods underwent another back surgery, his fourth since 2014.
