The Houston Texans have continued their free agency spending spree in hopes of helping new head coach DeMeco Ryans field a competitive team in the 2023 NFL season. According to multiple reports, the Texans agreed to one-year deals with tight end Dalton Schultz and running back Devin Singletary.

Schultz, who was considered one of the best players available in this year’s free agency, reportedly received a $6.25 million contract from the Texans. He will have the opportunity to earn an additional $2.75 million in incentives.

Singletary, on the other hand, can earn up to $3.75 million in 2023. The Texans officially announced his arrival on Tuesday.

Dalton Schultz spent the past five years with the Dallas Cowboys. Since becoming a starter in 2020, he had 198 catches for 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns. Schultz automatically becomes the Texans’ first option at tight end and significantly improves their offense, which is expected to have a rookie quarterback this upcoming season.

Devin Singletary comes to Houston after serving as the Buffalo Bills’ starting back for most of the past four seasons. Singletary, who has 3,151 career rushing yards and 16 TDs, will serve as a No. 2 option behind standout Dameon Pierce.
