Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has urged his club to “strike” during the January transfer window before the deadline passes. So far, the Premier League side has only signed forward Wout Weghorst on loan.

While the club is reportedly more interested in strengthening its squad during the summer transfer window following the conclusion of the current season, ten Hag has urged his team to reconsider the pursuit of new signings given the packed schedule that lays ahead, with numerous matches have to be rescheduled due to the World Cup in December.

“In the coming days, if we had the opportunity I would go for it but that’s not also up to me, that’s also clear,” ten Hag told the press. “

I think this club always has to have the approach that every day you have to get better so if there are opportunities to get better then you have to strike. That’s my approach so I’m looking around, to research but I have an idea with which profiles we could strengthen the squad.”

As the only English team left in four competitions, Man Utd’s season could stretch to over 60 games depending on how far they go in each tournament.
