Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expressed his belief in the team ahead of Sunday’s game against Premier League leaders Arsenal, explaining that the Red Devils are capable of challenging for the title. He warned, however, that continued investment in the team would be necessary on the owners’ part in order to remain competitive with their closest rivals.

“The Premier League in this moment develops into having six or seven teams who all can finally win the league because there are so many investments,” ten Hag explained, “When you have the right philosophy and strategy, many more clubs can compete for the top positions in the league.”

Ten Hag praised Arsenal ahead of Sunday’s showdown, particularly for the “ambition and strategy” that they exhibited when Man Utd won 3-1 in the previous fixture between the two bitter rivals at Old Trafford back in September.

With Man Utd last having won the Premier League title a decade ago, ten Hag has warned that his team cannot afford to become complacent; even when they are on top form.

Currently, Arsenal has a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, having only lost the previous game against Man Utd all season.
