Team USA and Canada will face in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, but it won’t be in the Finals like many people predicted. Instead, the Americans and Canadians will play a third-place game after suffering losses to Germany and Serbia in their respective semi-final matchups.

Team USA looked shaky in the first half of the game against Germany but still went on a break with a 60-59 lead. However, Germany put together a massive performance in the third quarter, outscoring their opponents by 11 points. The U.S. managed to get close in the fourth quarter but didn’t do enough to avoid a 113-111 loss.

Germany was led by guard Andreas Obst, who had 24 points and six assists, while Franz Wagner and Dennis Schroeder added 22 points and 17 points, respectively. Anthony Edwards had 23 points and eight rebounds for the United States.

Canada suffered the same faith as Team USA, being stunned by Serbia in the second semi-final matchup. Canadians fell into a 23-15 hole in the first quarter and never got close to turning things around.

Serbia saw Bogdan Bogdanovic score 23 points alongside three assists and four rebounds, while Nikola Milutinov added 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 95-86 win. RJ Barrett had 23 points for Canada, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed 15 points and nine assists.
