Tata Martino Reveals 2018 MLS All-Star Game Roster to Face Juventus

After fans picked the first 11 players for the 2018 MLS All-Star Game against the Juventus, the MLS All-Stars coach Gerardo Tata Martino revealed the remaining players to join the roster on Friday. Martino, who is the head coach for Atlanta United, picked 14 players and included the biggest stars which were skipped by the fans like Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC), David Villa (New York City FC), and Jonathan dos Santos (LA Galaxy). MLS commissioner Don Garber completed the roster by adding Alphonso Davies (Vancouver Whitecaps) and Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls).

Tata Martino talked with ESPN FC after announcing the selection and said that soccer fans in the U.S. should expect a “great spectacle” against Juventus.

This is a team that likes to attack, to score goals, so that should provide a great spectacle for the fans,” – Martino told ESPN FC. “But it also has to be evened out by players who can defend well and can dispossess opponents.”

2018 MLS All-Star Game will be played on Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on August 1st, 2018.

I think the fact that the game is in Atlanta and you have so many Atlanta players will really add to the spectacle. The fans here are very enthusiastic and it will be exciting for all of us,” – added Martino.
