Kansas City Chiefs’ young quarterback Patrick Mahomes II only started one game in NFL, but there are already lots of people who are high on the 22-year-old. One of them is former Chiefs’ All-Pro linebacker Tamba Hali, who recently compared Mahomes to legendary Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre.

You’re going to get a complete player,” – Hali gushed about Mahomes during a recent guest appearance on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. “I mean, he’s a smart player. He can throw the ball. Athletically, he’s gifted. You don’t have to coach it. In practice, I’d watch him just look guys off. I mean, Eric Berry, you look him off and complete the ball. He did it to Marcus Peters a lot. So, people don’t know what’s coming. I don’t want to hype him, but I compare him to Brett Favre. He runs around the field and he throws the ball and he’s just having fun.”

Surprisingly, Hali isn’t the only one to compare Patrick Mahomes to Brett Favre. Mahomes draw the same comparison even before he entered the league since many analysts thought that his athleticism and a strong passing arm resemble the physical traits of Favre.

Interesting thing is that Patrick Mahomes has Andy Reid as his head coach, a man who worked with Favre for seven years during his time as an assistant with the Packers.

In the lone game he started in 2017, Patrick Mahomes already showed a glimpse of his talent by completing 22 of 35 passes for 284 yards and leading his team to a 27–24 win against Denver Broncos. This was enough for the Kansas City Chiefs to bet their future on him, and have already traded away their starting quarterback Alex Smith with the intention to make Mahomes the started for 2018.
