It might be hard to imagine Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a front-office job, but LA Galaxy star wouldn’t run away from one when he retires. During a recent interview with Netherlands’ De Telegraaf, Ibrahimovic said that he is interested in becoming sporting director at his former club Ajax.

“Normally I don’t return to clubs where I have already played, but maybe after my career, I can become a director at Ajax,” – said Ibrahimovic. “Then I would do a better job than anyone who is sitting there now. ”

Ibrahimovic spent four years with Ajax, from 2001 to 2004, scoring 35 goals for the club in 75 appearances. During his time in the Netherlands, Swedish striker won two Eredivisie titles alongside KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield trophies.

“Ajax is still my club in the Netherlands, and I am proud to have been part of it, especially when I see how they present themselves in Europe. They have done what nobody expected and produce players that they are used to producing. It’s wonderful to see,” – he added.

Soccer fans hope, however, that the end of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s soccer career is still far away. The 37-year-old continued to be a prolific goal scorer in 2019 MLS season, managing to get 13 goals in 16 matches. He also dished three assists.
