Golden State Warriors managed to get a 119-117 overtime win in a decisive Game 4 of Western Conference Finals against Portland Trail Blazers and booked a trip to NBA Finals for fifth straight time. Warriors rallied back from a 17-point deficit in the regular time and then managed to keep their composure in overtime to complete the sweep.

Warriors were led by Steph Curry, who scored 37 points and added 13 rebounds and 11 assists to record a triple-double. This was the fifth straight game in the playoffs in which Curry scored 33 or more points. Draymond Green also had a triple-double with 18 points, 11 assists, and 14 rebounds while Klay Thompson added 17 points.

Blazers’ most efficient player was Meyers Leonard, who had 30 points to go with 12 rebounds. Damian Lillard also found his touch and played his best game of the series by providing 28 points and 12 assists while CJ McCollum contributed with 26 points.

While Blazers didn’t manage to win a single game in the series, they proved to be a tough opponent, as they had 15+ lead in three of the four games of the series. Still, Warriors came from behind each time to get a win. The toughness of the series was something that Golden State’s coach Steve Kerr addressed in his post-game conference.

“We had to fight and scrap,” – said Kerr after the game. “In the end, it’s a sweep, but we had to scrap and claw for three of the four victories. This was more difficult than it appeared.”

Warriors will now wait for the winner in Eastern Conference Finals where Milwaukee Bucks have a 2-1 lead over Toronto Raptors.

After a comeback win on Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Warriors have taken a commanding 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Finals.

Golden State came back from a 15-point halftime deficit to escape with a 114-111 victory, which puts them in the driver’s seat of the series.

Golden State, which continues to be without injured superstar Kevin Durant, struggled offensively in the first half. They only scored 50 points in the first and second quarters, one of their lowest totals in recent memory.

The third quarter changed the game dynamic, however, as Golden State poured in 39 points and tied the game at 89 heading to the fourth.

They suffered in the fourth quarter, but a late run allowed them to pull away from Portland and grab a crucial win.

Steph Curry led the comeback, scoring 37 points and shooting a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line.

Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were also key, with 24 and 16 points, respectively.

The series will now move to Portland and the Moda Center on Sunday for Game 3. If the Blazers want to climb back into the series, this game will be an absolute must-win for them.

Golden State Warriors will have to wait a bit more before their All-Star Kevin Durant is ready to return to action. Durant, who missed Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against Portland Trail Blazers with the calf strain, has also been ruled out for Game 2 of the series according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.

Durant suffered the injury in Game 5 of the West Semi-Finals against the Houston Rockets. After Golden State advanced, he was immediately ruled out for Game 1 against the Trail Blazers and considered doubtful for Game 2. The 30-year-old is expected to be reevaluated on Thursday before the game, but the Warriors will keep him off the basketball court as a precautionary measure.

Although Kevin Durant is considered to be Golden State Warriors’ best player, the team still managed to have a strong showing without him. They first defeated the Rockets in Game 6 to close out the series and then easily dealt with the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 1 coming out with a 116-94 win. According to certain reports, if Warriors win Game 2 against Portland in a similar fashion, Durant might sit out for an additional game or two in order to be fully prepared for the NBA Finals.

Durant averaged 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game during these playoffs.
