Beasley joined Titans in late March, signing a one-year, $9.5 million deal with the organization. The team had big hopes for the 28-year-old linebacker at the time, but it’s safe to say he didn’t deliver.

In five games he played in Titans’ jersey, Beasley managed just 125 snaps while contributing with three tackles and one forced fumble.

The marriage between Beasley and Titans seemed destined for failure from the very beginning. The 2016’s NFL sacks leader first missed the first 10 days of training camp without permission and then spent the early part of the season on the non-football injury list. Once he was ready for action, Titans were already operating as if he isn’t a big part of their plans moving forward.

Reportedly, multiple members of Tennessee’s coaching staff didn’t like Vic Beasley’s approach to the game while also believing he lacks work ethic. Beasley also failed to be a threat for opposing quarterbacks, the main thing he was brought in for, so his release didn’t come as a shock within the organization.

 Beasley spent the previous five years with Atlanta Falcons, who took him eighth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. During his time in Atlanta he racked up 156 tackles and 37.5 sacks while adding 11 forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns. He was First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2016.

Almost six months after joining Tennessee Titans, Vic Beasley is finally ready to make his debut with the organization.

Speaking with reporters on Friday, Titans’ head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed that Beasley returned to practices as a full participant and will play in Week 3 game against Minnesota Vikings. The 28-year-old linebacker missed the two previous games with a knee injury.

Beasley, who spent the previous five years playing with Atlanta Falcons, joined Titans on a one-year, $9.5 million deal in March. His stint in Tennessee got off to a bad start, as he didn’t report to training camp on time and was reportedly 10 days late. The team decided to place him on the non-football injury list upon the arrival while handing him a $0.5 million fine.

Still, it looks like the two sides managed to work out any differences they had. At least, according to Vic Beasley.

“There was a little disagreement here and there, but those things are behind us. I have moved on and let bygones be bygones,” Beasley told reporters Friday. “We came to an agreement, settled our differences, and are both understanding of the situation. It’s all smiles on both ends, and we are happy to work together.”

Beasley has had his ups and downs since entering the league as Atlanta’s No.8 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but there is no denying that he will provide a boost to the Titans’ inconsistent pass rush. He led the league in 2016 with 15.5 sacks, while he has 37.5 career sacks in 78 NFL games.

The Titans signed Beasley back in March to a one-year, $9.5-million contract. The 28-year-old linebacker later took part in the team’s virtual offseason workouts but surprisingly hasn’t been engaged with the organization since.

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Vrabel confirmed Beasley is a “no show” but expects him to report eventually.

“He’s not here. Everybody else is. He’s under contract, and we expect him to be here. I have not reached out or had much conversation with him,” said Vrabel. “We still look forward to getting him here and coaching him when he gets here. We want to coach him and want him to be a part of the football team.”

The Titans’ general manager Jon Robinson previously issued a statement saying that he had a conversation with Beasley, who confirmed he has the intention to join the team before the season starts.

Atlanta Falcons have announced on Tuesday that they will not negotiate a contract extension with their outside linebacker Vic Beasley. This decision will enable Beasley, who was the eighth overall pick in 2015, to become an unrestricted free agent in March.

The decision was confirmed by Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff in a statement released via the team’s official website.

“As we continue to craft our 2020 roster, we’d like to thank Vic for five years of effort on behalf of our organization,” said Dimitroff.

Following the announcement, Beasley posted a message on his social media in which he expressed his thanks to the Falcons’ organization.

Vic Beasley played all 16 games last season, contributing with 8.0 sacks and career-high 42 tackles. Still, Falcons’ decision to move on from him doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Despite a monster sophomore season, in which he had 15.5 sacks, Beasley was rather inconsistent during his time in the league. Given his production, Atlanta didn’t consider it was worthwhile keeping him on the roster, especially as the team has several other big decisions to make on the defensive side of the ball.

Beasley, on the other hand, is expected to have multiple suitors in the free agency. He is still young, and teams could be intrigued whether a change of system could help him realize the big potential from his college days.
