Legendary quarterback Tom Brady made it clear a number of times that he would not play football again. But that isn’t stopping fans and media from discussing his potential return to NFL.

The latest wave of rumors started circling after Brady bought an ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. With the Raiders’ current starter Jimmy Garoppolo being out due to foot surgery, a lot of people started speculating that Brady might come out of retirement to help the team that he now owns. But don’t count on that happening.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated earlier this week, Brady once again made it clear that his playing career is over.

“I’m certain I’m not playing again, so I’ve tried to make that clear, and I hate to continue to profess that, cause I’ve already told people that lots of times,” Brady told the media outlet.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion also added that he is focused on the start of his broadcasting career and involvement with the Raiders as an owner.

Brady signed a 10-year deal with Fox Sports in 2022 that is reportedly worth $375 million, making him the highest-paid commentator in sports history. After retiring from football at the end of the 2022 season, the 45-year-old decided to take a one-year break before starting the broadcasting gig.

In the meantime, Brady partnered with Raiders’ owner Mark Davis on several projects. This included entering the ownership group of WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces and becoming a minority owner of the Raiders.

Tom Brady, the most accomplished NFL player of all time, made it clear in February that he is retired “for good.” But considering that Brady has already un-retired once before, many still think that the seven-time Super Bowl champion might have a change of hearts once again.

Respected NFL journalist Rich Eisen is one of the people who think Brady might play again, recently saying on his The Rich Eisen Show that a couple of people told him: “Tom Brady may not be done after all.” Eisen also added that the future Hall of Famer would consider Miami as his potential destination.

Of course, the chatter founds its way to Brady, who then decided to address the rumors about his comeback on social media. The 45-year-old Brady made it clear that he doesn’t have time to come back to NFL as he is too busy with a two-month-old kitten he adopted for his daughter.

Brady decided to take a year off after retiring from NFL but will return to football in 2024 as a lead color commentator for NFL on Fox. He previously signed a 10-year contract with the network that will pay him a total of $375 million.

Tom Brady first retired after the end of the 2021 NFL season but changed his mind just 40 days later and decided to suit up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers again for the 2022 campaign. Brady threw NFL-record 490 completed passes, finishing the regular season with 4,694 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine picks. The Bucs made the playoffs despite having a losing record (8-9) but ended up being eliminated in the wild-card round by the Dallas Cowboys.

It is probably safe to say that not even the legendary quarterback Tom Brady himself knows when he’ll retire from the NFL. However, he already has his next job lined up whenever that happens.

On Tuesday, Fox Sports announced that Brady would join their team once he decided to step away from football. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is set to serve as the lead NFL analyst for the network.

“We are delighted that Tom has committed to joining the Fox team and wish him all the best during this upcoming season,” Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch said announcing the news.

Explaining Brady’s role, Murdoch revealed that the 44-year-old player would call games in company with Kevin Burkhardt, the network’s leading play-by-play announcer. Brady will also work on promoting the Fox brand.

Tom Brady already stepped away from football once, retiring back in early February. However, less than two months into his retirement, Brady changed his mind and committed to playing at least one more season. It remains to be seen whether Brady decides to play past 2022.

Brady will join a long list of former star QBs who made the transition to broadcasting after retiring from football. This includes Troy Aikman, Tony Romo, Peyton and Eli Manning, and  Drew Brees.

The most accomplished quarterback in NFL history will make a dramatic return to the sport. After spending just over a month as a retired football player, Tom Brady announced a shocking decision to unretire and play in the 2022 NFL season.

Brady revealed his decision via social media, writing on Twitter that he’ll return for his 23rd season as a pro with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 44-year-old spent the past two seasons as a member of the Buccaneers and led the franchise to a Super Bowl win in 2020.

“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady explained. “That time will come. But it’s not now.”

The reports about Tom Brady’s retirement surfaced shortly after the Buccaneers were eliminated in the Divisional Round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs. Brady went on to officially retire on February 1st, saying he wants to spend more time with his family and focus on other endeavors.

Despite the confirmation, however, many believed that Brady could still end up changing his mind as the 2022 season approaches. The rumors about his potential comeback were later intensified by the Bucs’ brass, who said there was a door open for Brady to return and that the franchise would take him back in a heartbeat.

It turned out that Tampa Bay’s general manager Jason Licht and head coach Bruce Arians remained in touch with Brady and were ready to act when the seven-time Super Bowl winner decided he wants to continue playing.

“Tom Brady loves to play football as much as anyone I have ever been around,” Arians said in a statement. “As Tom said, his place right now is on the football field.”

Brady had one of the most productive seasons in his career in 2021, throwing a career-high 5,316 passing yards alongside 43 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Bucs’ finished the regular season with a 13-4 record.

It’s an end of an era. Legendary New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Tom Brady decided to hang up his cleats and retire from the NFL.

Brady’s retirement was widely expected as several media outlets reported the news on Saturday. However, Brady waited with the official announcement until Tuesday morning, when he posted a lengthy statement on Twitter and the rest of his social media.

Announcing the retirement, Brady said he “loved his NFL career” but feels now is the time to “focus my time and energy on other things that require his attention. He also thanked his family, the NFL fans, his coaches, teammates, and everyone else who contributed to his career.

Addressing the future, Brady said he would continue working on the companies he co-founded, including TB12 Sports, but admitted he still doesn’t have everything planned out.

“I am going to take it day by day,” he added. “I know for sure I want to spend a lot of time giving to others and trying to enrich other people’s lives, just as so many have done for me.”

Brady spent his first 20 years in the NFL with the Patriots, transforming the franchise into a football powerhouse. As the team’s quarterback, Brady led New England to nine Super Bowl appearances and six Vince Lombardi trophies.

In 2020, Brady left the Pats and signed with the Buccaneers. He further cemented his status as the “G.O.A.T.” (greatest of all time) in Tampa Bay, helping the franchise to win a Super Bowl in his first year. However, he fell short of repeating in the 2021 NFL season, as the Bucs were eliminated in the divisional round by Super Bowl-bound LA Rams.

With seven Super Bowl rings, Tom Brady retires as the most accomplished player in NFL history. The next on the list, Hall of Fame linebacker Charles Haley, has five while no other quarterback managed to get more than four. Brady was also named the NFL MVP three times and had 15 Pro Bowl nods in 22 years of his NFL career. In addition, he holds numerous NFL records, including most career QB wins (243), most career passing yards (84,520), and most career passing touchdowns (624).

Tom Brady is already pushing the limits of what is considered an appropriate age for NFL quarterbacks. But if it were up to him, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal-caller would push them even more.

During a recent appearance on the Google It series featured on the Bucs’ YouTube channel, Brady answered several of the most frequently asked questions about him on the internet. One of the questions was whether he could play in the NFL until 50 years old.

“I don’t find it so difficult. Plus, in Florida, it’s kind of a retiree state, so I feel like I can play and then just glide into retirement,” Brady told his teammate and friend Rob Gronkowski, who appeared alongside him in the clip. “I think I can. I think it’s a yes.”

Gronkowski decided to spice things up after this and pointed out that Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen, might want some input on this.

Brady jokingly said that Bundchen would say no to this before addressing her directly on a seemingly more serious note: “You would let me. You would let me do anything as long as I’m happy.”

You can check out the full clip below.

While it might seem outrageous to think that Tom Brady could play until 50, we should remember that no one thought he could play at the age of 43. And then he proved everyone wrong by leading the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl.

Don’t expect New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to make a retirement announcement anytime soon. Brady, who turned 42 in August, intends to play in NFL in 2020 as he still has “more to prove.”

Following the Pats’ wild-card loss against Tennessee Titans this past weekend, rumors surfaced that Brady could step away from football. However, the iconic QB shot down the speculations on Wednesday with a letter to fans posted on his Instagram page.

Brady thanked the fans for their support and said that the failure in the playoffs wouldn’t discourage him.

“In both life and football, failure is inevitable,” he added. “You don’t always win. You can, however, learn from that failure, pick yourself up with great enthusiasm, and place yourself in the arena again. And that’s right where you will find me. Because I know I still have more to prove.”

We now know that Tom Brady will remain in the NFL, but where he will play remains unknown. He still hasn’t signed a contract extension with Pats and is set to become a free agent in the offseason. While it may seem improbable to see Brady in another jersey just a year ago, now that seems like a legitimate possibility.

While there is no clear indication where Brady could end up if he leaves New England, teams like Chicago Bears and Los Angeles, who are considered to be a quality QB from contention, have emerged as possible destinations.

We will get to see New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady in the NFL in 2019 as well. Many analysts wondered whether Brady will consider retiring if he wins Super Bowl LIII, which would be his sixth, on Sunday and we got that answer sooner than expected.

In a recent interview with ESPN‘s Jeff Darlington, Tom Brady was asked if there’s any chance that Super Bowl LIII is his last game.

“Zero” – responded Brady and confirmed what he has been saying for the entire season.

“I’ve said that for a long time,” – he added. “I feel like I’m asked that a lot, and I feel like I repeat the same answer. But no one believes me.”

When Tom Brady, who is currently 41 years old, said early last year that he intends to play until 45, many people didn’t believe him since no one played so long on such a high level. But in seven days, Brady will have two Super Bowl appearances in his forties, and you have to wonder how far can he go.

This year wasn’t remarkable for him when you consider some of his performances in several past seasons, but Tom Brady has been still playing closely to All-Pro level. He completed 375 out of 570 passes for 4,355 yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Although there are some slight signs of decline, Brady is setting the new standards for longevity and the rest of the league continues to look closely.

Although he is 41-years-old, New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady doesn’t intend to retire from football anytime soon. During a recent interview with Westwood One, Brady confirmed his plans to play in 2019 and beyond.

“I absolutely believe I will. I know I’ve talked about it for a long time: I have goals to not only play next year, but beyond that,” – said Brady. “I’m going to try to do it as best I possibly can. I’m going to give it everything I have, like I always have.

Brady doesn’t only intend to keep on playing, but he hopes he will be able to do it on a high level.

“It will certainly be a challenge. I don’t take any of these things for granted, but I hope I can keep playing, and I hope I can keep playing at a championship level,” – he added.

Although Tom Brady is currently having a solid season, many analysts believe he is playing below level on which he played last year. In 15 games played this season, he completed 65.4 of his passes for 4,105 yards and 25 touchdowns while having 11 interceptions.

Brady, who spent his entire career with New England, recently earned his record 14th Pro Bowl selection, joining NFL legends Tony Gonzalez, Peyton Manning, Bruce Matthews and Merlin Olsen, who also had the same number of selections.

At age 40, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady managed to take his team to Super Bowl appearance last season and become the oldest player in league’s history to win an MVP award. So it isn’t strange that despite his advanced years, Brady is still Patriots’ number one choice at the QB position and might be so in the coming years as well. But, soon to be 41-year-old knows he can’t play forever.

Speaking with Oprah Winfrey in an interview aired on Sunday, Tom Brady acknowledged he is thinking a lot more about retirement lately and that “there’s definitely an end coming.”

I think about it more now than I used to,” – Brady told Winfrey. “I think I’m seeing that there’s definitely an end coming, sooner rather than later.

Winfrey then asked Brady whether that time might be when he is 43 or even 45 years old.

As long as I’m still loving it.” – he responded. “As long as I’m loving the training and preparation and willing to make the commitment. But it’s also, I think, what I’ve alluded to a lot in the [“Tom vs. Time”] docuseries was there’s other things happening in my life, too. I do have [three] kids that I love, and I don’t want to be a dad that’s not there driving my kids to their games. I think my kids have brought a great perspective in my life, because kids just want the attention. You better be there and be available to them, or else they’re going to look back on their life and go, ‘Dad didn’t really care that much.’

If Tom Brady ends up playing until 45 and is still a starter for the Patriots, he will add another record to his collection; being the oldest starting quarterback in the history of NFL. The current record holder is Steve DeBerg, who was 44 years and 279 days old when he started for the Atlanta Falcons in a game against the New York Jets.
