U.S. international Timothy Weah might be on the move this summer. According to ESPN FC, Paris Saint-Germain is willing to listen to offers for Weah and might be persuaded to let him go if a proper offer arrives.

Sources close to the club say that while PSG isn’t looking actively to move on from Weah, they won’t be opposed to letting the player talk to other clubs for the right amount. If that ends up not happening, the 19-year-old will head to another loan spell.

After failing to break into PSG’s rotation at the start of the season, Weah was sent to Scottish side Celtic on a 6-months long loan. In Scotland, he played 13 games and contributed with three goals and one assist.

There are reportedly a number of teams interested in Timothy Weah, including Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, but he also might end up returning to Scotland.  This, however, is now less likely since Brendan Rodgers, who brought him to Celtic, is no longer the club’s manager.

“There have not been any talks yet,” – Weah told the Scottish Sun. “I will talk to my parents and lawyers. I have got a couple of options.”

“Coming back to Celtic is definitely an option,” – he added. “The manager situation does not matter to me — it is more about the club and me feeling comfortable here. If you know you have the opportunity to develop and get game time, that is the most important thing at this stage. I am ambitious and want to be somewhere where I can break into the first team. These are the things you have to think about.”

U.S. international forward Timothy Weah is leaving Paris Saint-Germain in January on a temporary basis and will spend the rest of the season on loan at another club. This was confirmed by the 18-year-old via a post on his social media.

I just want to take the time to talk to everyone about the decision my family and I made about going on loan this winter,” – Weah wrote on Instagram. “First of all, I want to thank the fans for their constant support, as well as the coaching staff and my teammates for making me feel part of the family.”

These few months were great even though I did not play much, I was always grateful for the opportunities I had at the beginning of the season because it opened many doors for me this winter,” – he added.

While the name of the club where Timothy Weah will spend the next six months is yet to be announced, it is believed that he is heading to Scottish powerhouse Celtic. According to the French radio RMC, former Arsenal star Kolo Toure, who currently serves as part of Celtic’s coaching staff, managed to convince Weah to pick Scotland ahead of several interested teams from England’s Premier League.

Timothy Weah had a great start of the season with PSG, making two appearances in August and scoring one goal. Since then, however, he didn’t play a single game and had spent his time with the team’s reserves.

Weah debuted for USMNT in March 2018 and went on to play eight games and score one goal since then.

United States international striker Timothy Weah might get more opportunities for first-team soccer with Paris Saint-Germain this season. After Weah scored two goals in PSG’s friendlies and scored his first League 1 goal against Caen last week, the club is now reluctant to let the 18-year-old leave on loan.

According to sources close to the club, League 1 newcomers RC Strasbourg Alsace approached PSG recently, wanting to bring Timothy Weah on loan. However, they were informed that the deal is unlikely to happen; at least at this point.

PSG wants to determine how Weah adds to the team’s depth and whether he can be a viable option in their already stacked attack. They might be, however, convinced that a move to a club where he can play regular soccer will be more beneficial for him.

Timothy Weah, son of former FIFA World Player of the Year winner George Weah, is considered to be one of U.S.’s biggest soccer talents. He made his debut for Paris Saint-Germain on March 3, 2018, and went to play two more games for the season. Weah scored his first goal against Monaco in the French Super Cup competition back in August. In 2018, he also made his senior debut for the United States.

The United States international and Paris Saint-Germain’s forward Timothy Weah isn’t thinking about the change of scenery in the near future. The 19-year-old recently talked with The 42 and said that he is really happy with PSG and intends to stay in Paris and fight for playing time despite facing some tough competition.

It is an incredible club, an incredible bunch of players, incredible coaching staff,” – said Weah. “I am learning so much from playing with them each day at such a young age and I am maturing in a way that I really wanted to. I am seeing my game really develop for the better. I am really happy to be at PSG — I want to stay there and learn and hopefully get some playing time.

Timothy Weah is establishing himself as one of the most crucial pieces in the core of promising youngsters that will be the future of United States men’s national soccer team. Weah recently earned his first USMNT start during a friendly 3-0 win against Bolivia and scored his first international goal, while also playing a full game in the 2-1 defeat against Ireland.

Still, despite a good start of his international career, there is no doubt that the youngster will have to find some regular playing time. Weah is aware of this and would be considering to go on a loan, but not before trying to soak up all the knowledge he can in Paris.

I feel like the loan is a little too early. I still want to be with them, get some more minutes and maybe at the end of next season or in the middle of next season, I will go out on loan. Who knows? It is up to the coach,” said Weah.

Timothy Weah, who is the son of former FIFA World Player of the Year recipient and current President of Liberia George Weah, spent a good portion of his youth career in the United States before joining Paris Saint-Germain Academy in 2014. In July 2017, Weah signed a professional deal with PSG, thus joining the team his father played for between 1992 and 1995. Although he spent most of his time playing for B team, Weah also had three appearances for the first team.
