Belgian right-back Thomas Meunier’s time in France seems to be over. Reportedly, Meunier decided to join Borussia Dortmund in the summer after failing to agree on a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

Meunier is on an expiring contract, but was hoping to remain with PSG. The Ligue 1 side, however, didn’t make him a satisfying offer, which allowed Dortmund to snatch the 28-year-old.

According to ESPN FC, Meunier will ink a four-year deal with Bundesliga powerhouse, which will pay him around $55 million overall. He most likely comes to Dortmund as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi, whose loan spell with Borussia expires in the summer.

After playing out his early career in native Belgium, Thomas Meunier joined PSG in 2016 in a transfer worth $7.5 million. While Meunier was solid in France for most of his time there, he never managed to establish himself as a part of the starting 11. This was particularly the case this season, as he only made 12 appearances in Ligue 1.

Besides Meunier, PSG will part ways with several other veterans in the summer, including Layvin Kurzawa, Edinson Cavani, and Thiago Silva. All three players are also on an expiring contract.
