Veteran wideout Terrelle Pryor failed to find a team to play with last season, but he hopes things will be different in 2020. According to Pryor, he is actively working on a comeback and already had talks with several interested teams.

Pryor started 2019 with Jacksonville Jaguars, but the hamstring issues prompted the team to released him before he played a single snap. The 31-year-old veteran’s last NFL appearances came in Week 9 and Week 10 of the 2018 season with Buffalo Bills.

Pryor could now play for Bills’ division rivals, as he told TMZ that New England Patriots are eyeing his services.

“There have been conversations with a couple—five teams,” said Pryor. “My representatives) spoke to the Patriots last week, I believe. A lot of the teams are not really dealing with bringing in players because of the COVID situation.”

Pryor would especially be interested in suiting up with Patriots due to his appreciation for the franchise’s new signal-caller Cam Newton. He would also like to play in his hometown of Pittsburgh with the Steelers.

“Those two are very intriguing,” he added. “Especially Cam. I’ve been a big fan of him throughout the years … And, obviously, Big Ben, that’s my hometown of Pittsburgh, so that’s just two teams that I really want to play for.”

Terrelle Pryor entered the league as Oakland Raiders’ third-round pick in 2011 Supplemental Draft. Pryor spent his first four years in the league as a quarterback but decided to switch to WR in 2015 after not seeing much action on his primary position.

Pryor’s best season as a wideout came in 2016 with Cleveland Browns, when he managed 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns. The combination of injuries and inconsistency stopped him from replicating this success and he managed less than 500 yards receiving since then during stints with Washington, New York Jets, and Bills.

The Jacksonville Jaguars added another wide receiver to a position group that is full of potential, but with few sure things.

Jacksonville added veteran wideout Terrelle Pryor to their roster after signing him to a one-year deal on Monday.

Pryor, who was drafted as a quarterback out of Ohio State by the Raiders in the 2011 NFL Draft, has spent the majority of his pro career as a wide receiver.

The 29-year-old played last season with the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets. He caught only 16 passes for 252 yards and 2 touchdowns in a disappointing 2018 campaign.

The NFL veteran had his best season after making the transition to receiver in the 2016 season for the Cleveland Browns. This year, he broke the thousand-yard mark with 1,007 receiving yard sale and 7 touchdowns.

He has thus far been unable to replicate this success.

Jacksonville is willing, however, to give the wideout a short-term deal to see if he can regain the magic that he found in 2016.

Specific terms of the deal are yet to be announced.

New York Jets missed out on Kirk Cousins, but at least they managed to reinforce their wide receivers core. According to the reports, the Jets signed former Washington Redskins WR Terrelle Pryor, who was one of the top names remaining on the free-agent market. The terms of the deal will be known in the following days, but it is expected that they are team-friendly. According to the sources, the 28-year-old also met with the Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns before deciding to join the Jets.

Terrelle Pryor joins the Jets team that already has three proven veteran wide receivers in Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse, and Quincy Enunwa. The team might decide to move on from Anderson or Kearse now that they got Pryor. Anderson had a great 2017 season, but it remains to be determined how patient the Jets will be with his off-the-field issues, while Kearse had a solid season but is due to make $5 million in 2018. Another reason for the Jets to move on from Anderson or Kearse would be to give their 2017 draft picks, ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen, more playing time.

Terrelle Pryor started his football career as a quarterback and was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft. After two seasons in which he saw minimal action, he played 11 and started nine games for the Raiders in 2013, throwing for 1,798 yards and seven touchdowns.

After short stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals, Pryor decided to switch to wide receiver position and signed a deal with the Cleveland Browns. He had a breakthrough season in 2016, with 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns, which secured him a multi-year deal offer by the Browns. Instead, he decided to take the offer from Washington Redskins, which didn’t turn out as a good decision since he only had 20 receptions for 240 yards in nine games.
