Arizona Cardinals made a surprising decision over the weekend, deciding to release linebacker Terrell Suggs. The news was confirmed by Cardinals’ head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who said that the decision was mutual.

According to Kingsbury, Cardinals want to give a chance to some other players while allowing Suggs, who started the first 13 games of the season for Arizona, to find a new team.

“We’d been having conversations as the season went on, as his role has been reduced,” – said Kingsbury. “We kind of made the shift to playing some younger players, moved Haason (Reddick) out there (to outside linebacker). In fairness to him, to try to find a better fit right now, we released Terrell. I just have so much respect for him and what he brought, and wanted to give him that opportunity.”

After spending his entire career with Baltimore Ravens, Suggs signed with the Arizona Cardinals during the offseason, wanting to prolong his career. He had a productive season so far, contributing with 37 tackles, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. This makes the 37-year-old an intriguing candidate for several teams who need depth on the defensive end.

However, it seems like Terrell Suggs is willing to play for just one team at this moment. Reportedly, Suggs made it clear to all other teams that he doesn’t intend to report if they claim him as he wants to return to Ravens. We will have to wait a few more days to see whether his return to Baltimore is realistic or not.

Suggs probably sees the Ravens potential, as they are arguably the best team in NFL at the moment, and would like to retire on a high note and at home. He played 16 years in Baltimore, winning one Super Bowl and getting seven Pro Bowl appearances.

It’s an end of an era. Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs decided to leave Baltimore Ravens after 16 years with the franchise. According to ESPN, Suggs already broke the news to his Ravens’ teammates while NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport reports that the 36-year-old will sign with the Arizona Cardinals.

The news came as quite a surprise, since Terrell Suggs, who was the last remaining starter on defense who was part of the team that won Super Bowl in 2012, stated several times that he would like to finish his NFL career in Baltimore and be “Raven for life.” Instead, he will spend 2019 season as part of a rebuilding team in Arizona while Ravens continue to retool their defense as they previously released safety Eric Weddle while linebacker C.J. Mosley is expected to leave in free agency.

Despite his advanced age, Suggs proved that he can still be an impactful player as he started all 16 games for the Ravens in 2018. He had 34 tackles and 7.0 sacks alongside one fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Terrell Suggs will leave the Baltimore Ravens as one of best players in the franchise history and one of the most accomplished pass rushers in the league’s history. During his career, Suggs managed to get 132.5 sacks, which rank him first among all active players and 13th on the all-time list. He has seven Pro Bowl appearances alongside one First-team All-Pro honor while being named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.

Veteran outside linebacker Terrell Suggs spent his entire NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens and he would like to keep it that way. Speaking with the reporters after Wild-Card loss against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Suggs, who is entering the free agency this year, said he doesn’t think about ending his career just yet and would “love to be a Raven for life.”

“I would love to be a Raven for life,” – said Suggs. “I’m healthy. I feel like I’ve still got some juice in the tank. I would love to be a Raven for life.”

Despite being 36-years-old and playing his 16th season in the league in 2018, Terrell Suggs played solid football this season. He started all 16 games and had 34 tackles to go with seven tackles, which was second-highest mark among Baltimore’s players. This brought Suggs to 135.5 career sacks, which ranked him 13th on the NFL’s all-time sacks.

While Suggs isn’t getting any younger, he has proved that he still can play on a high level, so it would make sense for Ravens to bring him back if the price is right. Still, if the organization chooses to move on from him, he still intends to play in 2019.

“It’s up to them,” – Suggs told reporters about his contract situation. “I mean, we’ll have to see what happens. It’s a long time between here and March, so we’re just going to enjoy it, hope we can work it out. But if not, I’m going to be lining up for somebody next year.”

Pittsburgh Steelers‘ QB Ben Roethlisberger isn’t having a good start of the 2017 NFL Season, at least by his own standards. In three games played so far, Roethlisberger has thrown 741 yards with a career low of 6.7 yards per pass rate. Others may think that something is wrong with the Big Ben, but one man knows the truth. Linebacker Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens thinks that is all one big scheme which Roethlisberger devised in order to fool the rival teams.

He’s setting us up,” – said Suggs to the reporters on Wednesday. “Yeah, you know, he’s playing mind games, the rat bastard. He’s setting us up. Tell Ben I’m on to his tricks. I know what he’s doing. I’m not going to let him fool me with trickery and Jedi mind trick me.

Interesting thing is that this isn’t the first time Suggs had his doubts about Ben Roethlisberger. When Roethlisberger was out during 2016 with a knee injury, Suggs had no doubts that Steelers’ QB will be all fine and well in time to participate in the game against the Ravens.

Don’t fall for that … You have to understand … I saw this movie before, you know,”- Suggs told reporters at the time. “He’s gonna act like ‘aw, I’m not playing, I don’t know, I did individual [workouts] a little bit.’ But then he’ll walk his big ass on out there and [I’ll be like] ‘how you doin’ Benjamin.’ And then, it’s on!

Although Suggs obviously thinks Roethlisberger will bring his A game against the Ravens on Sunday, Steelers are most likely worried a bit. Roethlisberger is currently on a 9 game streak in which he has thrown less than 300 yards per game. It wasn’t this bad since 2008. The bad news for the Steelers is that the stretch will likely continue since Roethlisberger has crossed the 300 yards mark only twice in his 19 games against the Ravens.
