There is a completely new swagger surrounding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after their high-profile signing of legendary quarterback Tom Brady earlier this offseason.

That isn’t the only step that the team is taking to refresh its image on the field, however. On Tuesday, in a Twitter post, the Bucs revealed their new uniform set for the upcoming season.

After spending the past six seasons wearing a set of “futuristic-looking” uniforms that were criticized by many in Tampa’s fanbase and around the league, the team has returned to a look that hearkens back to the team’s glory days in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Buccaneers owner Ed Glazer released a statement saying, ” We are excited to return to our classic Super Bowl era uniforms while also introducing a sleek Color Rush uniform that showcases our signature pewter in a new and dramatic way. The refreshed classic design of our home and away combinations bridges our past with our exciting new future, and we are confident it will resonate with our fans.”

The Bucs donned similar uniforms in Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003, when they defeated the Oakland Raiders to win the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

Now, Tampa Bay will hope to regain some of the magic from the design of their old duds with new uniforms that will remind fans of the franchise’s best days.
