Tampa Bay Buccanneers wide receiver Russell Gage is set to miss the entirety of the 2023 NFL season after suffering a knee injury during his team’s joint practice with the New York Jets on Wednesday, sources familiar with the matter claimed. The player was carted off the practice field in Florham Park, New Jersey following the injury.

“We hear it’s going to be pretty serious, and I’ll wait to hear the final results,” Bucs coach Todd Bowles stated following the practice. “I can tell by the way that he was sitting on the truck that it was probably something that happened pretty bad. Our hearts go out to him, and we’ll see how it goes.”

Catching 51 passes for 426 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in 13 games in his first season with the Bucs in 2022, Gage’s time in Tampa has been marred by injury issues. The 27-year-old player agreed to take a pay cut during the offseason to remain with the Bucs.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage had to leave his team’s 31-14 wild-card playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys early on Monday night after suffering a concussion and possible neck injury.

Gage was stretchered off the field late during the fourth quarter of the game after being on the receiving end of a hard shot to the neck from safety Donovan Wilson. While he attempted to get up, he collapsed back down onto the ground, with players from both teams taking a knee to pray for his recovery.

“They took him to the hospital,” Buccanneers coach Todd Bowles reported after the game. “Right now, he has a concussion. They’re also testing him for potential neck injuries.” Bowles added that while Gage managed to move his fingers after taking the hit, he is unsure of the player’s abilities to move his other extremities.

Gage’s injury comes just two weeks after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field during his team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. While this incident caused players to panic following Gage’s injury, Buccaneers tight end Cam Brate stated that seeing Gage moving helped to subside their panic.

The Tampa bay Buccaneers came back from a double-digit deficit to defeat the Carolina Panthers 30-24 on Sunday to win the NFC South title for the second consecutive season. This is the 14th consecutive season that veteran Tom Brady will appear in the playoffs.

“We’ve been through a lot this year, so we have a lot of resiliency and strength, so we don’t get down when we get down score-wise,” Bucs coach Todd Bowles said following his team’s remarkable comeback. “They buckled down, they stayed together as a team and they came through.” This marks Bowles’ first playoff berth as Tampa Bay’s head coach.

Quarterback Tom Brady proved to be a standout player during the Bucs’ victory, ending an 11-game streak without a touchdown alongside wide receiver Mike Evans. Brady made three touchdown passes to Evans.

Brady’s 63-yarder that lead to the first touchdown handed Evans 1,000 receiving yards for the ninth consecutive season, putting him level with Tim Brown for second-most in NFL history behind only Jerry Rice.

This victory also marks the first occasion this season on which the Bucs have been able to secure victory after conceding 20 or more points to the opposition.

Veteran quarterback Tom Brady returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp on Monday after taking an 11-day prearranged break for personal reasons. Despite his absence, Brady appeared alert and ready for the new season, coach Todd Bowles said, adding that he essentially picked up where he left off with the team on August 11.

“If anybody can get away with the 11-day break during training camp, it’s Tom. He came back, kind of firing on all cylinders again. We’re all excited he’s back and ready to move on,” tight end Cameron Brate commented.

Quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen expressed his gratitude for Brady’s return, explaining that he was sorely missed. Brady missed two preseason games during his absence.

During Brady’s time away, backup Blaine Gabbert and third-stringer Kyle Trask participated in most of the snaps during training camp. Clearly feeling Brady’s absence, the Buccaneers lost their games against both the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans. There is now a possibility that Brady will feature in Tampa Bay’s final preseason matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

A seven-time Super Bowl champion, Brady is entering his 21st season in the NFL.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen was carted off the practice field during his team’s training session on Thursday after incurring a knee injury. This comes just weeks before the start of the new NFL season.

NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo have reported that the Buccaneers hope to have a definite diagnosis of the player’s injury within the next few days. Coach Todd Bowles has admitted that the team is still unsure of the severity of Jensen’s injury.

General manager Jason Licht expressed his grief for Jensen, who slammed down his helmet in a show of frustration after slumping to the ground due to his injury.

Jensen’s injury puts the Buccaneers’ offense in a precarious position ahead of the new season, especially due to Jensen being the only remaining starting interior lineman from the Buccanneers’ Super Bowl LV-winning squad. His experience is expected to play a crucial role in Tampa’s upcoming season.

Another reason for concern over Jensen’s injury is the Buccaneers’ squad depth, particularly with guard Ali Marpet retiring at just 28 years of age in February while guard Alex Cappa left for Cincinnati as a free agent.

Wide receiver Julio Jones has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ESPN reported on Tuesday. The 33-year-old player will join fellow veteran Tom Brady in Tampa as he hopes to make a comeback from an underwhelming season with the Tennessee Titans.

Drafted sixth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, Jones has become the Falcons’ all-time leader in catches (848) and yards (12,896) and is only second in touchdown receptions (63) to Roddy White. Most impressively, Jones is the NFL’s all-time leader in receiving yards per game, with an average of 91.9.

Jones’s tenure with the Titans proved to be less prosperous than his time in Atlanta, with Tennessee deciding to release him in March; just a year after acquiring him from the Falcons. Still, he remains an attractive trade prospect, leading the NFL in receiving yards since 2014.

Upon signing for the Buccaneers, Jones will join the ranks of Breshad Perriman, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson, and Russell Gage, who, like Jones is also a former Falcon.

In addition to reinforcing its strong pool of receivers, the Buccaneers also recruited veteran tight end, Kyle Rudolph, to fill the vacant spot left by Rob Gronkowski, who retired last week.

ESPN reported on Thursday that tight end Kyle Rudolph has signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 32-year-old player was released by the New York Giants in March after making 26 catches for 257 yards over the year he spent with the team.

Upon his arrival in Tampa, Rudolph is expected to fill the gap at the tight end that was left behind by Rob Gronkowski, who recently retired from the sport. Alternative tight end Codey McElroy lacks experience, having only appeared in one competitive league game.

Prior to joining the Giants, Rudolph played for the Minnesota Vikings for 10 seasons. In total, he has made 49 touchdowns and 479 catches for 4,745 yards during his entire NFL career. This includes averages of 2.9 yards per separation as well as 4.0 yards and 3.4 yards respectively over the last two years.

Having retired for a second time, Gronkowski publicly stated that he has no intention of ever returning to the NFL. Should Rudolph be unavailable, the Buccaneers will be able to fill the position with rookies Cade Otton or Ko Kieft, both of whom were picked during the NFL Draft in April this year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to a deal with former Pro Bowl running back Le’Veon Bell, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The move comes less than 24 hours after the Bucs learned they will be without their leading back Leonard Fournette for the remainder of the season.

Bell will join the Bucs after playing five games with the Baltimore Ravens earlier in 2021. He managed 31 carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns before being cut in late November.

The Buccaneers are expected to make the move official once Bell passes his physical.

Despite his struggles in recent years, Bell should have a prominent role in Tampa Bay from the get-go. The team’s backfield has been depleted by injuries in recent weeks, and they don’t have much depth on the position. Their current options include former starter Ronald Jones, who has had a quiet year so far and isn’t a major factor in the passing game, and second-year player Ke’Shawn Vaughn, who only had 11 carries this season.

Le’Veon Bell was once considered one of the best running backs in the game, receiving three Pro Bowl nods during his first five years in NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, Bell’s career has been on a downward trajectory ever since he sat out the 2018 season due to a contract dispute with the Steelers.

Bell signed a big-time contract with the New York Jets ahead of the 2019 season but failed to replicate his production from his early years as a pro. He lasted less than two seasons in New York before embarking on unsuccessful stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Ravens.

But if there is any place where Bell could resurrect his career, Tampa Bay should be it. The Buccaneers already helped Bell’s former Steelers teammate Antonio Brown to become a factor in the league again, so it would be a surprise if they do the same for him.
