The Golden State Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry suffered a left foot sprain in an 88-110 loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night that will reportedly keep him off the floor for the remainder of the season. However, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors are optimistic that Curry will recover in time for the first round of the playoffs.

Curry got hurt in the second quarter while trying to make a play for a loose ball. Before he could get to it, Celtics guard Marcus Smart dived to grab the ball and landed on Curry’s ankle. The two-time MVP was slow to get up and was visibly limping before heading to the locker room.

After the game, Curry underwent an MRI test that showed there is no structural damage on his foot. However, he will know the full extent of the injury after meeting with a foot specialist soon.

Stephen Curry’s injury comes at a bad time for the Warriors, who have won just four of their last 10 games and started slipping in the standings. Golden State is currently third in Western Conference with a 47-23 record. They are nine games behind the leading Suns and 3.5 games in front of the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks on no. 4 and no. 5.

Curry played 64 games in 2021-22, averaging 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per contest.

Golden State Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry made his highly anticipated return to action on Thursday night against Toronto Raptors. Curry previously missed four months after he broke his hand in late October.

Curry was limited to only 27 minutes against the Raptors, but still managed to pour in 23 points while adding seven rebounds and seven assists. This, however, wasn’t enough for the Warriors, who lost the game 121-113.

“I thought he looked great, moved well,” said Golden State’s head coach Steve Kerr. “It was not the ideal set of circumstances for him — we were taking him in and out of the lineup to keep his minutes down and to keep his stints shorter. He’s not used to that. But he obviously gave us a huge lift, and he changes the whole game when he’s out there.”

While on the floor, Curry showed flashes of his brilliance that made him two times MVP and one of the best NBA players in the past decade. The 31-year-old was running up and down the floor, finishing at the rim and hitting amazing three-pointers.

“It felt great. There was a lot of energy,” said Curry. “The anticipation for getting back out there tonight, just getting out on the floor and seeing what was going to happen. It’s kind of a cool moment just with the excitement and energy in the building.”

There were rumors that the Warriors might sit Steph Curry for the entire season, as they are far from contention and also miss their other All-Star in Klay Thompson. While that might have been a safer move, the team opted to bring Curry in and help him get back to the grove and build chemistry with his younger teammates for the next season when Golden State is expected to be a championship contender once again.

Golden State Warriors are currently without their four All-Star players, but one could return soon. According to the team’s statement from Tuesday, guard Stephen Curry, who missed the team’s last six games, is “making good progress and, as a result, has been cleared to participate in full team practice beginning tomorrow, with the goal of returning to play later this week.”

Stephen Curry suffered a sprained ankle injury during the game against the San Antonio Spurs on March 8. Warriors are being cautious over Curry’s return since this was his fourth ankle injury this season. The 30-year-old also has a history of ankle injuries, which at one point threaten to jeopardize his basketball career. According to the sources, Curry is eyeing to return to action on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks.

During the six games span without Curry, the Warriors are 2-4. They are also 13-8 this season when he’s not on the floor compared to 40-10 when he is starting. Curry has been averaging 26.3 points, 6.2 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game in the 2017-18 season.

Besides Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors currently have Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson on the injury list. According to the reports, Durant (ribs injury) and Thompson (hand injury) won’t be returning to the starting line-up anytime soon.

Warrior’s fourth All-Star, forward Draymond Green, also suffered a pelvic contusion injury in the second quarter of Monday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Still, it looks like Green won’t miss out any time.

It’ll be fine” – he said after the game. “I think it’s just kind of something that’s kind of at the peak right now, but it’s calmed down a little bit since it happened. So, it’s not that serious.

Asked whether he thinks he will miss games because of the injury, Green responded: “I don’t think so, but I don’t know. I’ll just go day by day and see if it improves over the next couple of days. But I don’t think so.
