Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is sizzling hot to start the 2021-22 NBA season. This was more than obvious on Monday when Curry torched the Atlanta Hawks with 50 points to give his team a 127-113 win.

Curry had a stellar shooting night from the long-range that saw him make nine three-pointers from 19 attempts. He was also perfect from the free-throw line, sinking all 13 tries. And the 33-year-old managed to do all of this despite injuring his left shoulder early in the first quarter.

Curry finished the Hawks game by adding 10 assists, which made him just the third player in the franchise history to do so in a 50 points game. Only Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry managed to do it before him.

Speaking with reporters after the game, the Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was in awe of Curry’s outing.

“That was just a stunning performance by Steph,” Kerr said via ESPN. “He was amazing. I want to say I’ve never seen anything like it, but I’ve been watching it for seven years, so I have seen something like it and still it’s just incredible to watch.”

Stephen Curry has been an early MVP candidate this season and is currently averaging 27.6 points, 6.6 assists, and career-high 6.6 rebounds per game. His performances helped the Warriors to get on top of the Western Conference, and they currently hold a league-best 9-1 record.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been breaking NBA records left and right in this month of April, and he just did it again. This time, he broke the record for most made threes in a calendar month—after reaching the number of 85 threes in a game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.

In the game, Curry led his Warriors to a 117-113 victory while knocking down seven three-pointers in the process. Warriors fans were over the moon, chanting “MVP” for their beloved star who’s already won the aforementioned award twice in the past.

The previous holder of the record was James Harden, who made 82 threes in November of 2019 while he was still on the Houston Rockets. Now, however, the record belongs to the man who most agree is the greatest shooter of all time.

After the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr had this to say about Curry: “It seems like I’ve run out of ways to describe Steph’s play,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “I’m just going to stop trying.”

When Curry himself was asked how he’s able to tap into the zone so easily, he said: “It’s just trying to get a decent look, get your feet underneath you, and then the rest is muscle memory, confidence, and just creativity, so just trying to be in the moment as much as possible.”

Curry is averaging an astonishing 38.2 points per game this month.
