Golden State Warriors’ season is turning from bad to worse. According to Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher, Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry most likely won’t play again this season.

Curry underwent surgery last week to repair a fracture in his left hand and initially was supposed to be out for three months. Bucher reports that the injury turned out worse than Warriors thought and that the 31-year-old All-Star will need more time to recover in full.

While Curry might be ready before the end of the season, it’s believed that the Golden State will elect to sit him out for the remainder of 2019/20 as they are not expected to be competitive. The team previously announced that Klay Thompson, who suffered a torn ACL during NBA finals, won’t play until next season.

Warriors, on the other hand, refuted the reports that Stephen Curry is going to miss the entire season. Sources close to the team say that the organization intends to evaluate Curry in February as originally planned.

Golden State Warriors don’t look good so far, even with Curry on the court, so they are expected to be stuck at the bottom of the Western Conference this season.  This might be a blessing in disguise, however, as they can rest their stars for the next season and give their younger players a chance to grow. Also, they will probably get a high draft pick to help them out as well.
