The Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry was unable to score a 3-pointer during his team’s 118-114 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night, bringing an end to a streak of 268 games during which the point guard did so successfully. He went 0-for-8 from 3-point range and 2-for-12 overall.

Apart from holding the longest 3-pointer streak in NBA history, Curry also holds the second-longest streak at 157 games. The last time he went without scoring from the 3-point range was on November 8, 2018, when he went 0-for-4 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

“We can’t rely on Steph to bail us out on every single night,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr remarked after his team’s narrow victory. “It was a tough night for him. But that’s what a team is supposed to be about — everybody filling in for each other, different guys stepping up each night.”

On the back of a two-game winning streak, the Warriors find themselves in 11th place on the Western Conference standings at 12-14. They next face Eastern Conference leaders Boston Celtic on Tuesday night.

Stephen Curry scored 24 points for the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night in his first game since December 14 after incurring a subluxation of his left shoulder. Despite his positive performance, the Warriors fell 125-113 to the Phoenix Suns.

The defeat was a shock considering that this was the first time since December 3 that the Warriors had their best lineup. In contrast, the Suns continue to struggle with injury issues of their own.

“I think with Steph and [Andrew Wiggins] back, we probably relaxed a bit more than we should have,” Golden State guard Klay Thompson commented, explaining that the Warriors perhaps did not show the intensity that was necessary to come away with the win.

Following his 11-game absence, Curry wore a shooting sleeve on his left arm in order to help himself cope throughout the game. He stated after the game that he felt as if he coped well from start to finish and that he did not think about his shoulder throughout the game.

Curry admitted that he is not yet back to top form and that he feels pressure to return to form within a short time span.

The Golden State Warriors provided an update about the injury their star guard Steph Curry suffered in a 125-119 loss to the Indiana Pacers earlier this week. According to the announcement made on social media, Curry is dealing with “left shoulder subluxation” and will be out indefinitely.

The Warriors promised to share the timeline for Curry’s return at a later date. However, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the two-time NBA MVP is expected to miss at least “a few weeks” of action.

When asked about the injury, Curry didn’t go into details but said that he is just happy that he won’t need surgery.

“Because I know the surgeries are four to six months [recovery time], and nobody wants to be dealing with that right now,” said Curry.

Before he went down, Curry had been playing some of his best basketball in the 2022-23 season, which is saying a lot considering his accomplishments. He has been averaging 30.0 points while shooting 43.4% behind the three-point line. The 34-year-old is also dishing 6.8 assists and grabbing career-high 6.6 boards per game.

The absence of Curry comes at a bad time for the Warriors, who are struggling as of late. They have lost their last three games and are currently sitting at no. 11 in Western Conference with a 14-16 record.

The Los Angeles Lakers will kick off their postseason facing this year’s NBA MVP. That is, at least, according to Lakers superstar LeBron James.

James had a chat with reporters on Sunday night in which he discussed the Lakers’ upcoming play-in game against the Golden State Warriors. He said that his team has to be on “its best” as they will be playing against the “MVP of our league in Steph Curry.”

“I mean, just look at what he’s done this year. I don’t know anything else if you’re looking for an MVP. If Steph is not on Golden State’s team, what are we looking at?”, said James. He also added that Curry had “the best season all year.”

The Lakers and Warriors will meet on Wednesday, with the winner of the contest locking the No. 7 seed for the playoffs. The loser will face either the San Antonio Spurs or Memphis Grizzlies to determine the No. 8 seed.

Steph Curry was the only bright spot on a Warriors team that battled injuries for the better part of the season. Curry had arguably his best statistical season as a pro, averaging a career-high 32 points and winning the NBA’s scoring title for the second time in his career. He also added 5.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 42.1 percent from the three-point line.

Still, Curry most likely won’t get much consideration for his third MVP award due to the Warriors’ poor record. Golden State finished eighth in the Western Conference standings with a 39-33 record for the season.

The Most Valuable Player award for the 2020-21 NBA season will most likely go to either the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic or the Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid. If this happens, either of them will become the first center to get the honors since Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.
