West Ham United has finally found the solution to its worrisome lack of a striker, agreeing to a team-record $56 million transfer fee to sign French striker Sebastien Haller.

West Ham, which was desperately looking to add a striker to its roster after missing out on Maxi Gómez, paid Eintracht Frankfurt a healthy sum of money in order to acquire the prolific 25-year-old goal scorer.

Haller began his professional career with the team of his youth, Auxerre, in France’s second division. He then made a move to FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie in 2014, where he scored a grand total of 41 goals in only 82 games.

He made his big career move in 2017, heading to the Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt. There, he became one of the team’s unquestioned starters, impressing with his natural knack for finding the back of the net.

The gifted striker notched 24 goals and 13 assists in only 60 matches over two seasons with the German side. His constant aerial threat and strong right leg made him a tough task for opposing defenses and piqued the interest of West Ham.

Now, he’ll move to London to play in one of the world’s premier leagues. West Ham hopes that his talent will hope them qualify for European competitions for the first time since 2016.
