The new Denver Broncos owners, led by Walmart heir Rob Walton, are looking to make Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning a part of the organization. According to ESPN, Manning has already been approached with an advisory role offer.

The idea is to make Manning more involved in the day-to-day operations and use his expertise. In exchange, the famed QB would have a chance to become part of the ownership group and obtain equity in the franchise.

Walton and his ownership group previously agreed to pay $4.65 billion for the Broncos. This would mark the record price paid for a franchise in North American sports. The bid is now subject to approval by the NFL owners, which could happen in the next couple of months.

Peyton Manning spent four years quarterbacking the Broncos after joining the organization as a free agent in 2012. He won an NFL MVP award in Broncos’ jersey while leading the franchise to a Super Bowl 50 win.

During the sale process, Manning revealed that he was approached by several interested parties to become part of an ownership group.

“I care because I live here, and I go to the games, and I want to know what’s going to happen like everyone else. But I have no relationship or agreement with anybody,” Manning explained.

To the surprise of no one, Clemson’s star quarterback Trevor Lawrence is declaring for the 2021 NFL draft after three spectacular seasons and one national championship with the program.

NFL executives have had their eye on Lawerence since he was in high school. His talent was confirmed in his first season at Clemson when he threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns as a true freshman to defeat Alabama and win the National Championship.

Lawrence made his announcement that he was leaving Clemson, despite having one more year of eligibility, with an emotional video message posted on Twitter:

There aren’t many players that come out of college viewed as perfect prospects, especially at the quarterback position, but Lawrence is one of them. Most believe that Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 2012. Others believe he is the best since the Colts drafted future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning in 1998.

Lawrence is expected to land with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have the first pick in the draft and need a savior to lift the franchise up after finishing the season with a miserable 1-15 record while starting three different quarterbacks over the course of a 15-game losing streak.

Manning won one Super Bowl championship apiece in Indianapolis and Denver, was named the NFL league MVP five times, and put up record-setting numbers in just about every statistical category.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson played only nine seasons, all with the lowly Detroit Lions, but was the most dominant wide receiver in the league for the majority of his career, catching 731 passes for 11,619 yards, and 83 touchdowns.

Defensive back Woodson was a nine-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team and four-time second-team All-Pro. He was also named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2009, was a two-time NFL interceptions leader, and won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The selection committee will meet on February 6, 2021, to make a decision on which players will make it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.

New York Jets are currently in the middle of the search for a new general manager, and it seems like they have an interesting candidate in their mind. According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Jets are considering Super Bowl-winning retired quarterback Peyton Manning for the position.

Florio reports that Jets’ head coach Adam Gase would play the key role in the hiring process since he was Manning’s quarterbacks’ coach and later offensive coordinator while the five-time NFL MVP was with the Denver Broncos.

While Peyton Manning would certainly be a coup for the New York Jets, it remains to be seen whether the legendary QB is interested in a front office job. Since retiring from NFL in 2015, Manning focused on television and hosts the film breakdown show “Detail” on ESPN while also preparing a documentary series “Peyton’s Places” on ESPN+. He was also recently offered a gig on “Monday Night Football,” but decided to pass on the offer.

If Manning ends up in New York, this would mean he will finally be a member of the Jets organization; something that supposedly should happen more than 20 years ago. According to the rumors, Manning was prepared to leave the University of Tennessee one year early if Jets were to promise that they will take him with the first overall pick in 1997 draft. Jets ended up trading the pick, however, and Manning was drafted No.1 by the Indianapolis Colts in 1998.

The New York Jets are expected to hire former Miami Dolphins manager Adam Gase as their new head coach, league sources confirmed on Thursday. The Jets will also interview former Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph for the same role.

The Jets, who also have an open position for the defensive coordinator, are reportedly considering to hire former Cleveland Browns interim head coach Gregg Williams for the position. For the offensive coordinator role, the Jets plan to hire Dowell Loggains, the man with whom Gase worked with in Miami.

Gase was fired by the Dolphins last month. On Tuesday, Jets’ CEO Christopher Johnson received a call from former legendary quarterback Peyton Manning advocating for Gase. Ironically, the Jets are one of the few NFL teams Gase beat 5 or more times in his three years at Miami. Gase holds a 5-1 record against the Jets, and now he’s about to join them.

Before joining Miami, Gase was Peyton’s personal coach between 2012 and 2014 while the quarterback played for the Broncos. He later became Jay Cutler’s coach in 2015. In New York, Gase will replace Todd Boyles, the recently fired coach who compiled a record of only 24-40 in four seasons.

In the 43-19 win over Washington Redskins, Brees had 363 passing yards, bringing his career total to 72,103 yards. Former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning held the previous record with 71,940 passing yards.

Drew Brees’ achievement is even more spectacular when you consider the way he managed to reach it. The 39-year-old broke the 71,940 mark with a 62-yard touchdown pass to Tre’Quan Smith. He also completed 26 of 29 passes for the game, posting his career-best completion percentage of 89.7.
