Panama winger Omar Browne has ended his stint with Montreal Impact quicker than expected. Browne, who joined Impact on a season-long loan deal in April, was recently recalled by his parent club C.A. Independiente.

Browne played 10 MLS games with Impact, contributing with two goals and two assists in the process. He, however, lost his place in the starting lineup in recent months and hasn’t started a game since June.

Omar Browne played for several teams in his native Panama before joining Independiente in 2018. Since then he played 49 games with the club and scored 13 goals. Browne first showcased his skills to MLS teams during CONCACAF Champions League, when he had a string of great games. This also included the tournament’s quarterfinals, when he helped his club get a win over Toronto FC by scoring two goals.

Montreal Impact could afford to lose Browne, as they were quite busy in the last days of secondary MLS transfer window, bringing in several impactful players. This including the acquisition of Ivory Coast midfielder Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla and signing former Barcelona wonderkid Bojan Krkic.

Impact currently sits at No.7 on Eastern Conference standings.
