It feels like Odell Beckham Jr. was involved in some kind of trade rumors ever since he joined Cleveland Browns last offseason. And while we can read a new report about Beckham’s potential exit almost every week, Browns, to their credit, remain fairly consistent in denying them.

New Browns’ general manager Andrew Berry addressed the Beckham trade rumors most recently during his Wednesday appearance on Good Morning Football, saying that the team sees the veteran wideout as a “long-term member of the organization.”

“With all due respect to the question, I think this is actually a topic, at least from our perspective, there really hasn’t been a ton of ambiguity,” said Berry on Wednesday. “We’ve been clear from the beginning that we view Odell as a fantastic player. We’re a better team with him on the field. We see him as a long-term member of the organization.”

Browns sent a first-round pick (No.17) last year to New York Giants for Odell Beckham, hoping he will make a dynamic WR duo with Pro Bowler and former UCLA teammate Jarvis Landry. Beckham ended up having a solid season but was far from spectacular, catching 74 passes for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns.

Shortly after the season ended, reports surfaced that Beckham was reportedly unhappy with his role in the offense and wanted out. The 27-year-old was linked with several NFL teams since then, and there were talks that Cleveland even discussed trade packages with Minnesota Vikings.

Despite all of this, however, Beckham remained a Brown.  And, if we are to trust Berry, this will also be the case for a foreseeable future.

New York Giants fans were not happy to see wideout Odell Beckham Jr. being traded to Cleveland Browns, but it seems like the 26-year-old Pro Bowler welcomed the move.

Beckham recently discussed his move with Complex and told the magazine that he felt he couldn’t reach his “full potential” with the Giants.

“I just felt with the Giants I was just stuck at a place that wasn’t working for me anymore,” – said Beckham. “I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to reach my full potential there. Mentally, physically, spiritually, everything I felt capable of doing, I just couldn’t see it happening there. So I think allowing me to be in an environment where I can be myself and give it a different approach, I feel like my football will benefit. I’m just excited about being able to play football again and not have to deal with all the other stuff and politics that came with my previous role.”

Odell Beckham established himself as one of the best WRs in football during his time in the NFL, but his talent was overshadowed by troubling behavior. Giants were initially ready to look past this, giving him a five-year, $95 million contract extension in 2018, but continued to listen to offers for him.

Several teams were interested in his services, but Browns had the best offer and ended up winning Beckham sweepstake with a package revolving around No.17 pick in 2019 NFL Draft and safety Jabrill Peppers.

In his five years in New York, Beckham managed to rack up 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns. His career highlights include NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, three Pro Bowl selections, and two Second-team All-Pro honors.

Cleveland Browns shocked the league a few weeks ago when they managed to trade for New York Giants’ superstar wideout Odell Beckham jr.. But, as it turns out, they were not the only team trying to get the 26-year-old Pro Bowler as San Francisco 49ers tried to get in on the fun as well.

The 49ers general manager John Lynch recently talked with KNBR about his team’s efforts to get Beckham and revealed that the trade failed because Giants demanded San Francisco’s No.2 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

“I think, ironically, the fact that we had the No. 2 pick made it more difficult because they wanted that badly,” – said Lynch. “They wanted two No. 1s. And we weren’t willing to part with that. It was too valuable of a pick.”

Lynch’s comments were also backed by the 49ers’ owner Jed York, who said that the organization didn’t think they are getting enough in return for such a high pick in the draft.

“We were definitely in it,” – said York. “We were aggressive. But I think (the Giants) wanted different things than we had to offer. I think it would have been very hard for us to just give up a first-round pick and not get a ton in return, other than just the player, knowing that the second pick in the draft is a very, very valuable pick.”

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, San Francisco 49ers did offer the Giants an opportunity to swap No.2 pick for their No.6 pick as part of the Odell Beckham trade but the two sides couldn’t agree on the rest of the package.

Cleveland Browns ended up using this to get Beckham by offering package that included 2019 first-round pick (17th overall) and the 2019 third-round selection (95th overall) alongside safety Jabrill Peppers.

After New York Giants traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns, running back and reigning NFL Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley is next in line to become the face of this franchise. And not only this, but Barkley will have to take on an even bigger offensive load in 2019.

While this might seem as overwhelming expectations from a 22-year-old, Barkley is ready to expand his role on the team. Speaking about the aftermath of Beckham’s trade and his future role on the Giants with NJ.com, he said that his main goal is to “grow as a leader more.”

“I have to grow as a leader more” – said Barkley. “Whether it’s being a vocal leader or leading by example, it’s a team effort. We have to have other players grow as leaders, continue to believe in each other.”

Barkley also revealed that Beckham talked with him after the trade and provided some advice on how to “handle stuff” in the NFL.

“We talked over Facetime, he had just gotten traded, so I don’t think he was really happy about it,” – he added. “He just gave me some advice about how to handle stuff in the league. He was the same old big brother to me that he’s always been.”

After being drafted second overall in 2018 NFL Draft by New York Giants, Saquon Barkley went on to have a monster first year in the league. He ended 2018 with 1,307 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns while also adding 91 receptions for 721 yards and four touchdowns.

Besides breaking several Giants franchise and NFL records, Barkley also earned a Pro Bowl appearance and was named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year and AP’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
