Kicker Jason Myers has signed a four-year contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced on Wednesday. With his previous contract set to expire in March, his new deal includes incentives that will raise the contract’s value to $22.6 million, making him the NFL’s second-highest-paid kicker.

At 31 years of age, Myers returned to top form in 2022, making 34 of his 37 field goal attempts to earn his second Pro Bowl nod in five seasons as the NFC’s kicker of choice. He has been a vital member of the Seahawks roster this season, kicking a 32-yard game-winner in overtime against the Rams in Week 18 to keep Seattle in the running for a playoff spot.

“Look at the kick at the end of the half. What a great play that was for a kicker,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said of his prized kicker. “He had a terrific year. He wants to be here. We want him to be here, so we have to figure it out somehow.”

Had he not signed his contract extension with the team, Myers would have been set to become an unrestricted free agent.

The Arizona Cardinals and Pro Bowl Budda Baker have reportedly agreed to a contract extension which will make the 24-year-old safety the highest-paid player at his position in the history of the NFL.

Baker and the Cardinals have come to an agreement on a four-year, $59 million contract extension which will keep him in Arizona through the 2023 season.

The former second-round pick has become one of the top safeties in the league since being drafted out of the University of Washington in 2017.

After only starting seven games during his rookie campaign, Baker entrenched himself as a full-time starter in 2018 and has been named to the NFC Pro Bowl squad in two seasons as a defensive stalwart for Arizona.

Last season was Baker’s best, as he recorded a total of 104 tackles, 6 pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Despite a disappointing 5-10-1 regular-season record for the team last year, they are clearly on the rise, and Baker is set to be an important part of their defensive framework.

Financial deals of the contract, outside of the total dollar amount, have yet to be announced. Expect the Cardinals to officially announce the deal at some point this week.
