If you are sorry that you won’t see Atlanta Hawks or Minnesota Timberwolves playing again this season, then we have some good news. According to reports, the NBA is planning to organize a “second bubble” which would include games between eight teams not included in the Orlando season restart.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Thursday that the league is close to putting the final touches on the plan, eyeing a September starting date in Chicago. The teams are expected to have a mini training camp and “friendly” games while there.

NBA recently held a call with teams in order to iron out the details about the “Chicago bubble,” with representatives of Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves taking part. The only team that didn’t have a representative on the call were New York Knicks.

Reportedly, the teams initially wanted to have mini-camps in home arenas or establishing regional sites close to their markets. However, the league rejected the idea and remains determined that the remaining teams, if they want to play, must follow the same guidelines like 22 teams that will be quarantined in Orlando.

If the league’s plan ends up going through, the teams would spend two weeks practicing and would then play four games each. The format would be similar to the NBA Summer League.
