Things are definitely not going well for Jacksonville Jaguars this season. The team has announced on Thursday that they have placed linebacker Myles Jack on the injured reserve list, ending his 2019 season.

Jack missed last week’s game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a knee injury and hasn’t practiced this week. The game against Buccs was the first missed game for the 24-year-old since he entered the league in 2016.

Jacksonville also confirmed that the team has promoted LB Joe Giles-Harris from the practice squad in a corresponding move.

Myles Jack was in the mid of a disappointing season in which he only made 66 tackles and one interception while adding just half of a sack. This drop-in production was unexpected, especially since the Jaguars gave him a $57 million extension in the offseason. This new deal, which runs through 2023, carries $33 million guaranteed and makes Jack one of the highest-paid inside linebackers in the league.

Jack’s career stats include 287 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, and one defensive touchdown.
