After a series of workouts, veteran cornerback Morris Claiborne finally picked his team for 2019 NFL season. Kansas City Chiefs announced on Friday that they reached an agreement with Claiborne and signed him to a deal.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reports that Claiborne, who recently worked out for Minnesota Vikings, inked a one-year deal, which will pay him up to $3 million. Reportedly, the $1.5 million will be based on incentives.

Claiborne will be suspended in the first four games of the season, but according to Rapaport, Kansas City was aware of that when they made the deal.

Claiborne joins a capable Chiefs CB core which is highlighted by Kendall Fuller and Bashaud Breeland and will have to put in the serious effort if he wants to be the starter.

Morris Claiborne, who was Dallas Cowboys’ sixth overall pick in 2012, spent the previous two seasons with New York Jets. He had productive two years with the organization, contributing with 100 tackles, 22 pass deflections, three interceptions, and one touchdown.

Claiborne’s NFL career stats include 251 tackles, 49 pass deflections, seven interceptions, and two TDs.
