The team’s executive vice president Stephen Jones recently made an appearance on Dallas’ based radio station 105.3 The Fan, and was naturally asked about his opinion on McCarthy’s performances so far. While Jones said that he understands the criticism towards the new coaching staff, he also reiterated that the organization believes they have the right man for the job.

“I know we’ve got the right head guy for the job,” said Jones. “These things just take time. I know our fans are frustrated. We certainly understand the criticism that’s come our way. But we’ve got to go to work.”

Jones also explained that the franchise intends to remain patient with McCarthy and his staff, believing it is only a matter of time before everything falls in place for the Cowboys.

Criticism towards Mike McCarthy has been well deserved so far, considering that he couldn’t do better than a 2-5 record despite having a talented squad. Cowboys hired McCarthy with a goal to challenge for Super Bowl, which is something they couldn’t count on with their past head coach Jason Garret.
