Safety Michael Griffin will return where it all began and sign a one-day deal with the Tennessee Titans so he could retire as the member of the organization on Monday. Griffin, who was drafted by the Titans with the 19th overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft, last played for the Carolina Panthers in 2016.

It was a blessing to play 10 years in this league. It wasn’t always easy, but it was always a good time,” – Griffin told ESPN on Sunday afternoon. “I wish I played every second of my career here. But I always felt like a Titan, even when I wasn’t a Titan. I’ll always remember playing in front of those fans in Nashville. I wish the current Titans a ton of success.

Michael Griffin spent nine seasons with the Tennessee Titans, playing in 141 career games for the team. During his time with the Titans, Griffin recorded 25 interceptions and seven sacks alongside 11 forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries. His 912 tackles also make him the franchise’s all-time leader in tackles by a safety. He managed to earn two Pro Bowl selections and one Second-team All-Pro honors.

After being released by the Titans in February 2016, Griffin signed with the Minnesota Vikings before resuming the 2016 season with the Carolina Panthers. He played 10 games for the Panthers, recording 30 combined tackles.
