Reigning Formula One champion Max Verstappen failed to finish the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, ending his streak of nine consecutive wins. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, just two weeks removed from an appendix surgery, won the race ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc and McLaren’s Lando Norris.

Verstappen started the race from the pole position and was in the lead after three laps when his car caught fire. This was the first time he was forced to retire after 2022 and 43 consecutive races.

After Verstappen dropped out, Sainz emerged as the leader and never relinquished his first position. This was the first win for the Spaniard since Singapore Grand Prix in 2023 and third in his career.

“Life sometimes is crazy, you know. What happened at the beginning of the year, then the podium in Bahrain, then appendix, the comeback, the win, it’s a roller coaster. But I loved it,” said Sainz after the race.

Despite not getting any points in Melbourne, Verstappen is still sitting at the top of F1 Driver’s Standings with 51 points. Leclerc is second with 47 followed by Red Bull’s Sergio Perez (46), Sainz (40), and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri (28). Red Bull is first in the Team Standings with 97 points, followed by Ferrari and McLaren.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen already had his third Formula 1 championship in the bag before the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday. But that didn’t stop him from going at full speed and clinching yet another win this season.

Verstappen finished first in the sprint race on Saturday, securing enough points to win the 2023 F1 Championship even before the Qatar GP even started. He then started the race from the pole position and didn’t look back, crossing the finishing line 4.83 seconds ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri. Lando Norris, the second McLaren’s driver, finished third.

The win at Qatar GP was Verstappen’s 14th this season. There are still five Formula 1 races left in 2023, and the 26-year-old Dutchman doesn’t seem like he will take his foot off the gas. He intends to continue pushing for wins and has a chance to top his 2022 record of 15 wins in a single F1 season.

“We will enjoy it a little, but there are still quite a few races out there that we want to win!” said Verstappen after the Qatar GP.

Besides serving as Verstappen’s winning lap, Qatar GP also saw some drama. Starting the race behind Verstappen, Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton crashed in the opening lap while trying to take the lead. This ended up with Hamilton being knocked out of the race and Russell having to work his way into the race to finish fourth.

After winning 10 consecutive races, Max Verstappen saw his record-winning streak come to an end at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday. It was also a bad day for Red Bull, considering it was the first race they hadn’t won this season. And it was all because of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.

After getting the pole position in the qualifiers, Sainz remained mainly error-free throughout 62 laps. He also wowed the spectators with some masterful defense late in the race as he looked to avoid being overtaken by McLaren’s Lando Norris.

Norris ended up finishing second, while Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton grabbed the last spot on the podium following a crash by his teammate George Russell.

This was the second win for Sainz in his F1 career and the first one for Ferrari in more than a year.

“We nailed the weekend, we nailed the race, and we did everything we had to do, and we did it perfect,” Sainz said after the race. “We brought home P1 and I’m sure the whole of Italy and the whole of Ferrari are going to be proud and happy today. “

Verstappen, who started the race from 11th position, managed to get to No. 5. However, he still has a huge lead on the driver standings with 374 points. If he bounces back at the upcoming Japan GP, the reigning F1 champion will be able to secure another title in the next couple of races.

Max Verstappen believes that his record run of Formula One victories will come to an end on Sunday at the Singapore Grand Prix. Having won 10 consecutive Grand Prix starting in Miami in May, he will be 11th on the grid following Saturday’s qualifiers after his car experienced braking issues.

“Yeah, you can forget about that,” Verstappen said when asked about his chances of winning. “We made a few more changes [ahead of qualifying] which we thought the setup would allow, the car would allow, but then we got into qualifying, the first big problem I had was that I couldn’t brake late and hard, because I would bottom out and it would unload the front tires.”

While Red Bull has won every race this year thanks to the combined effort of Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez, this run also looks likely to end as Perez qualified 13th. Still, regardless of Sunday’s result, Verstappen will win his third world title this year.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen continued his dominant showing in the 2023 Formula One season with a win at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday. Verstappen now has 10 consecutive wins, which is a new F1 record.

Verstappen beat the record previously held by Sebastian Vettel, who had nine straight wins in 2013 while racing for Red Bull as well. He will have a chance to improve it in two weeks at Singapore GP.

Verstappen started the race from the second position but only needed 14 laps to surpass Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz. After emerging on top, the Dutch driver had no trouble remaining there for the remainder of the race.

Sainz ended up losing the second position to second Red Bull driver Sergio Perez before the finishing line, while his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc finished fourth.

Verstappen has now extended his lead at the top of the F1 driver standings with 364 points. Perez is second with 219 points, followed by Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso (170) and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton (164).

Red Bull is even more dominant in the Team Standings. They have 583 points, more than double compared to second place Mercedes with 273. Red Bull has won all 14 races this season, with 12 going to Verstappen and two to Perez.

No challenge seems to be too difficult for the reigning Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver emerged victorious from Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix despite starting the race ninth on the grid.

Verstappen also secured the fastest lap in Miami, earning the maximum 26 points to remain at the top of the F1 standings. His teammate Sergio Perez finished second, while Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso came in third.

Verstappen had a disappointing Q3 session on Saturday, and many believed he would face the tough task of advancing on a track that doesn’t offer much room for overtaking. But Verstappen needed only 15 laps to reach the second position behind Perez.

The two Red Bull drivers swapped positions a few times through the pit before Verstappen took the lead for good in lap 48. Verstappen came out of the pit on fresh medium tires, and Perez couldn’t get enough out of his hard tires to put up a bigger fight.

Speaking with reporters after the race, Verstappen said he was happy because of the win but that there were things he could have done better.

“I think what is important is to try to be close to 100 percent or perfect every single time. Yesterday wasn’t perfect, so overall, this weekend wasn’t perfect,” said Verstappen after the race. “It’s a long season, and I always try to be as close as possible to perfect.”

The 2022 Spanish GP delivered everything a Formula 1 fan could hope for. The sixth circuit of the 2022 F1 season was action-packed, full of surprises, and it delivered a change at the top of Driver Standings. Reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen got his fourth win of the season and leaped over Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who had to quit the race due to car issues.

Things looked great for Leclerc early on, as he defended his pole position and managed to get a comfortable lead at the top. Meanwhile, Verstappen made a costly mistake on lap nine and ended up in the gravel. This saw him slip to fourth behind teammate Sergio Perez and Mercedes’ George Russell.

Leclerc was cruising towards another win until lap 27 when his car just gave up on him. He suddenly lost power and had to retire. This surprising development gave Verstappen an opportunity to get in charge of the title run, but he had to win to capitalize on it fully.

Verstappen quickly got on Russell’s tail, although he had a much harder time passing him. A dysfunctional DRS didn’t allow him to get in the best position for overtaking, but a clever pit strategy by Red Bull gave the Dutchman the edge at the end.

Russell slipping to third gave Red Bull the first two positions, although not in their envisioned order. This prompted the team’s boss to order Perez to let Verstappen past him without a fight, ensuring their No. 1 driver uses Leclerc’s retirement in the best way possible.

Leclerc will have a chance to bounce back quickly, as the next GP is scheduled to take place on May 29th in his home country of Monaco.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen successfully bounced back after a disappointing start to the 2022 Formula 1 season. After failing to finish the Bahrain Grand Prix last week, Verstappen not only completed the Saudi Arabia GP but did it by being the first across the line.

Verstappen started the race from the No. 4 position in the grid but managed to overtake Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) almost instantly. Then, after the safety car was deployed on Lap 16, the Dutchman used the commotion to advance to the second position. What ensued was a thrilling battle between him and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, the winner of the Bahrain GP.

Leclerc spent most of the race in the first position, successfully deflecting Verstappen’s attack. However, things changed after McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo got stuck in the pit lane on Lap 37. A virtual safety car was deployed, allowing Verstappen to cut into Leclerc’s lead even more and get into the position for overtaking.

Verstappen first took the No. 1 position on Lap 42, but Leclerc recouped it one lap later. Then in Lap 47, Verstappen once again got past Leclerc but this time managed to hold onto it and get his first points of the season.

Leclerc’s teammate Sainz also finished at the podium, while Red Bull’s second driver Sergio Perez took the No. 4 finish. On the other hand, Verstappen’s biggest rival Lewis Hamilton had a disappointing race. After starting from No. 15, Hamilton only managed to get up to No. 10 to win one point.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is the F1 World Champion for the 2021 season after winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. Verstappen claimed the win by overtaking his direct rival, Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes, in the final lap of the race. The duo entered the event tied at the top of the F1 driver standings.

Verstappen started the race from the pole position but immediately lost it to Hamilton, who emerged in front thanks to an impressive start. The two drivers were side by side shortly after, with the battle causing Hamilton to get off the track. The seven-time F1 champion managed to return to the first position regardless and held onto it despite Red Bull’s protests that he gained an unfair advantage.

Hamilton was comfortably leading for the better part of the race with Verstappen failing to make up enough ground to challenge him. However, Nicholas Latifi’s crash caused a Safety Car to be deployed on Lap 52/58, and Verstappen used the opportunity to get a fresh set of tires while Hamilton remained out.

The race resumed on Lap 58/58, giving Verstappen one last chance to attack Hamilton. The 24-year-old Dutchman, driving on faster tires, made the most out of it and overtook his rival early in the final lap. He then hold onto the lead until passing the checkered flag before erupting in massive celebration alongside the rest of the Red Bull team.

Despite getting the first through the finishing line, Max Verstappen couldn’t fully enjoy his first F1 title. Mercedes made several protests about the way the last lap unfolded. However, the Formula 1 governing body rejected the protests several hours later, allowing Verstappen to be officially crowned as the new champion.

A Formula One title seems within Max Verstappen’s reach after the Red Bull driver delivered a dominant performance on Sunday to win the Mexican GP. Verstappen has now solidified himself on top of the F1 standings with 312.5 points and has 19 points lead over Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes on the second.

Verstappen started the race from the third grid behind two Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, but that proved to be no issue for the Dutchman. He managed to overtake both Mercedes drivers before Turn 1 and never looked back.

There was a mess behind Verstappen, however, as Bottas had his car spin after being pushed from behind by McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo. Meanwhile, Alpine’s Esteban Ocon got jammed between Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda and Haas’ Mick Schumacher. Curiously, Ocon survived the crash and remained on the track while Tsunoda and Schumacher were forced to finish the race early due to damage to their cars.

After the safety car left the track, Verstappen confidently built his lead and was never in danger of having his position jeopardized by Hamilton behind him. The reigning F1 champion, however, had to work hard to keep his position as second Red Bull driver Sergio Perez constantly pressured him from the third.

Hamilton somehow managed to keep his position, but Perez will probably be happy with his effort as well. By finishing third, he became the first Mexican driver in the history of Mexican GP to climb on the podium.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen already had his third Formula 1 championship in the bag before the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday. But that didn’t stop him from going at full speed and clinching yet another win this season.
