The Texas Rangers are set to be without Adolis Garcia and Max Scherzer for the remainder of the World Series. The team removed the pair from their active roster as both players suffered injuries in Game 3; a devastating setback for a team that’s just one game away from winning their maiden championship in franchise history.

Hours before their 11-7 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Rangers made the difficult call to exclude both players. The team is now leading 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Garcia was suffering a “moderate strain”, Rangers manager Bruce Bochy explained, leading to the player undergoing imaging. He tweaked his left oblique in the eighth inning, at which point he was taken off for utility man Ezequiel Duran. Scherzer was suffering back spasms before he was removed from play and replaced by left-hander Brock Burke.

The Texas Rangers pitcher Max Scherzer is determined to play in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night despite getting a cut on his right thumb. The Rangers’ medical staff used super glue and cotton to create a protective layer around his thumb in order to allow the starting pitcher to step up to the plate.

“A little arts and crafts in the training room at times,” Scherzer jokingly said before continuing, “but that’s what you’ve got to do.” Amid conflicting opinions, Scherzer believes that his cut developed due to his hand not being as callused due to the time he took off after suffering a shoulder injury.

During mid-September, Scherzer incurred a low-grade strain of the teres muscle in his right shoulder, believed to be a result of strain due to constantly throwing at a high intensity. Still, the 39-year-old player insists that he is getting over this shoulder issue.

The Texas Rangers could get their ace Max Scherzer back for the playoffs after all. Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Scherzer said that he is encouraged by his progress and described his latest bullpen session as “pain free”.

Scherzer suffered a right shoulder sprain in early September and hasn’t pitched since. The Rangers believed at the time that the 39-year-old would not return to action unless they made a deep playoff run.

However, Scherzer seems to believe that he can beat the odds.

“Last week was a light bullpen, this one was for real,” Scherzer told reporters. “I was able to step on it more. And it was pain free.”

Scherzer joined the Rangers from the New York Mets ahead of the trade deadline, with Texas believing he can solidify their status as a World Series contender. He had a 4-2 with a 3.20 ERA in eight starts. Overall in 2023, the three-time Cy Young Award-winner is 13-7 with a 3.77 ERA and 174 strikeouts.

The Rangers took care of the business in the NL wild-card series, sweeping the Texas Rangers. They will now face the Baltimore Orioles in the NL Divisional Series. Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday.

Texas Rangers’ ace Max Scherzer was placed on Injured List on Wednesday with a shoulder muscle strain. Scherzer won’t play in the regular season anymore and is unlikely to pitch in the playoffs if the Rangers end up making them.

Scherzer got hurt during the 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this week and was forced to exit the game in the sixth inning.

Speaking with reporters, Rangers’ general manager Chris Young said that Scherzer will get re-evaluated in a couple of weeks but isn’t expected to need surgery.

“It’s certainly bad news today,” Young said. “We’re very sorry for Max, obviously. It’s the last thing he wanted; he’s such a competitor, and he was pitching great last night when this happened.”

Scherzer started the 2023 MLB season with the New York Mets, playing 19 games and going 9-4 with a 4.01 ERA and 121 strikeouts. With the Mets deciding to punt on their campaign after a poor start, the 39-year-old player left New York in a blockbuster trade to join the Rangers.

Since joining the Rangers, Scherzer compiled a 4-2 record in eight games, alongside a 3.20 ERA and 53 strikeouts.

Previously a lock to make the postseason, the Texas Rangers have struggled to maintain momentum in recent weeks. They are currently second in the AL West, trailing one game to the leading Houston Astros but also having just 1.5 games in hand over the third-placed Seattle Mariners.

The New York Mets face another major obstacle in their attempts to continue a great run at the start of the 2022 MLB season. The team just announced that they will be without their All-Star Max Scherzer for up to eight weeks after the 37-year-old player was diagnosed with “moderate to high grade internal oblique strain.”

Scherzer presumably got injured during Wednesday’s 11-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The three-time Cy Young Award winner made it through five innings before getting off the field. After the game, Scherzer said that he felt soreness in his left side and knew he had to call it a night to prevent a major injury.

This development is likely to create more headaches for manager Buck Showalter as he tries to work out his rotation. The Mets also can’t count on four-time All-Star Jacob deGrom, who still hasn’t pitched in 2022 due to a shoulder injury, and Tylor Megill, who recently landed on the injured list due to biceps issues.

Max Scherzer joined the Mets on a three-year, $130 million contract during the offseason. He was on a great run before the injury, compiling a 5-2 record with 2.54 ERA and 59 strikeouts in eight starts. This helped the New York team to a National League-leading 26 wins and the top spot in NL East.

The Los Angeles Dodgers confirmed that right-hander Max Scherzer will not be able to perform in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday night against the Atlanta Braves. This news comes as the 37-year-old continues to struggle with arm fatigue.

“I would just say my arm was dead,” Scherzer explained of his injury. “I could tell when I was warming up that it was still tired.” The player first complained of arm fatigue after Game 2 on Sunday, when he noticed that his arm was unusually tired after the game.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explained that as of late, there is no clear answer on when Scherzer would be able to return to action.

In addition to the veteran pitcher, the Dodgers have a long list of players who are unavailable through injury, including the likes of the third baseman Justin Turner, who is suffering a hamstring injury, late-inning reliever Joe Kelly, first baseman Max Muncy, and longtime ace Clayton Kershaw.

The Dodgers were able to provide their roster with a much-needed boost on Friday, adding former Cy Young Award winner David Price to the mix.

Washington Nationals star pitcher Max Scherzer suffered a broken nose on Tuesday in an absolutely bizarre batting practice accident.

Scherzer was participating in a practice drill in which pitchers stand in the batter’s box to practice bunting the ball. The flame-throwing righty, who was standing in the box with a seemingly lackadaisical attitude, squared up to bunt a pitch thrown by a Nats coach.

Unbelievably, the ball ricocheted off of Scherzer’s bat and directly towards his face. The ball struck the 34-year-old pitcher square in the nose, and he was immediately forced to leave the field.

Later on Tuesday night, Washington officials announced that Scherzer, who leads Nationals starters with a 2.81 ERA and 136 strikeouts on the season, had suffered a broken nose in the accident.

The Nationals have not yet made any type of move to place Scherzer on the injured list after the fracture. Signs point to the fact that he will miss any possible time on the shelf and that he will make his next start this week.

This would be the best possible outcome for both Scherzer and the Nationals, who were caught off guard by this bizarre happenstance on an otherwise normal Tuesday.
