]]>Veteran outfielder Matt Kemp will get another chance to return to the MLB. Kemp, who spent the majority of the past season dealing with injuries, has reportedly agreed to join Miami Marlins on a minor league deal.
Kemp is expected to be present at the Marlins’ spring training, where he will have a chance to make the team’s active roster for 2020.
Kemp started the 2019 season with Cincinnati Reds, playing 20 games and hitting .200 with just one home run and five RBIs. He then broke his rib before being released by the Reds in May. The 35-year-old also spent time with New York Mets on a minor league contract.
Over the course of his MLB career, Matt Kemp also played with Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and Atlanta Braves. He has three All-Star appearances and two Gold Glove awards while finishing as a runner-up for the NL MVP award in 2011.
Kemp batted .285 over the course of his career while having 281 home runs and 1,010 RBIs.
