The Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been ruled out of his team’s clash against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed on Friday. According to McVay, there is a strong possibility that the injury could see Donald remain on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

Donald suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 12 during his team’s 10-26 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Soon after Donald’s injury, McVay announced that the team would monitor his progress on a weekly basis to determine when he could be considered fit enough to return to action.

McVay revealed on Friday that while Donald is making good progress in his recovery, he is unlikely to be cleared to play by the Rams’ medical staff before the conclusion of the season.

“Will he be fully cleared to be Aaron Donald?” McVay commented. “And if he is, then we talk to him and see. But if not, we’ll err on the side of being smarter. But obviously, he’s a guy that has certainly earned the right where you talk to him. But he’s not cleared yet and I don’t know that I see that changing in the next couple weeks.”

The All-Pro offensive lineman, who is now 37 years old, avoided questions about his possible retirement during all of last season and in the lead up to the Super Bowl.

Whitworth, who began his NFL career in 2006 after being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2nd round, has established himself in recent years as one of the league´s top offensive linemen.

The LSU alum has anchored the offensive line for what has become one of the NFL´s most potent offenses since joining the Rams before the 2017 season.

Whitworth is due to receive a salary of $10.3 million in 2019 after he receives a $500K roster bonus for continuing to play in March.

The Louisiana native is lauded for the improvements that he has made throughout his career. Despite being at an age in which most players are declining, Whitworth has only gotten better with age.

Whitworth will look to win the first Super Bowl ring of his career on what will surely be a contending team in the 2019 season, staving off the end of his career once again.

The New England Patriots have traded wide receiver Brandin Cooks to Los Angeles Rams. The Patriots have sent Cooks and a 2018 fourth-round pick to the Rams, receiving the 23rd overall pick in this year’s NFL draft and 2018 six-round pick.

Brandin Cooks joined the Patriots last season when the New Orleans Saints traded him in exchange for the 32nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. Pats and Saints also swapped the mid-round pick as the part of the trade.

In his only season with the New England Patriots, Brandin Cooks played in 16 games (15 as a starter) and had 65 receptions for 1,082 yards, alongside seven touchdowns. He added 10 receptions for 155 yards in the postseason. Cooks had 16 receiving passes for 20-plus yards in the 2017 NFL season, which tied him with Texans’ DeAndre Hopkins for most in the league.

This trade means that the Los Angeles Rams will be without a first rounder for a second consecutive year, while the Patriots will have their highest pick in the draft since 2012 when they held the 21st overall pick. Acquiring Cooks means that the Rams will probably stop pursuing New York Giants’ star WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is off the market. The 31-year-old has agreed to a one year deal with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. According to the reports, the deal is worth around $14 million. The Rams have confirmed the acquisition of Suh on their official Twitter profile.

Ndamukong Suh was the best free agent left on the market, after being released on March 14 by the Dolphins. He has visited the Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints in the past week, before deciding to accept the offer from the Rams.
