Premier League champs Liverpool is intent to move on from goalkeeper Loris Karius and have reportedly told interested teams that he’s available for $8 million.

Karius returned to Liverpool in May, terminating his loan stint with Besiktas earlier than expected after the Turkish club failed to pay him wages. It was reported at the time that the 27-year-old goalkeeper might stay at Anfield as a backup for Allisson, but that obviously won’t be the case.

Liverpool openly told Karius he will be sold this summer, and they already talked with several clubs about a possible transfer. So far, Ligue 1 side Montpellier are the favorites for the German’s signature, needing a No.1 keeper after Geronimo Rulli returned to Real Sociedad. Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin are also keen on the player but still haven’t made a move.

Loris Karius, on the other hand, doesn’t seem worried about his situation at all. Karius, who has two years left on his contract with Liverpool, told Transfermarkt last month that he won’t leave unless he’s guaranteed a starting job.

“I will have to be playing if I actually change clubs,” said Karius. “It makes no sense to say I’m leaving Liverpool for a worse club, and I’m only number two there.”

Karius joined Liverpool back in 2016 and spent the 2017/18 as the team’s starting goalkeeper. However, poor performances and some head-scratching mistakes in key games like the UEFA Champions League finals caused him to lose his place in the starting lineup. He was sent to Besiktas ahead of the 2018/19 season on a two-year loan deal with an option to buy.
