LiAngelo Ball still hasn’t given up on his goal to play in the NBA one day. Ball, who is the brother of the Chicago Bulls’ Lonzo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball, is reportedly signing an NBA G League contract and will be part of the league’s draft on October 23rd.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Ball could be an intriguing prospect for the Greensboro Swarm. The team is affiliated with the Hornets, with whom the 22-year-old played during the Summer League.

Ball had a good outing during the Summer League, reportedly impressing Charlotte’s coaching staff. He averaged 10.5 points a game and was 41.7 percent from the three-point arc. But despite this, the Hornets opted against signing him to a deal.

LiAngelo Ball started his professional career with Prienai of the Lithuanian Basketball League, signing with the team after leaving UCLA. Ball spent four months playing for Prienai, averaging 12.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest, before entering the 2018 NBA Draft.

Ball went undrafted and has since made several attempts to make an NBA roster. This included a stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s G League affiliate OKC Blue and spending training camp with the Detroit Pistons. However, he still hasn’t received an NBA contract offer.

LiAngelo Ball, the brother of New Orleans Pelicans’ Lonzo Ball, is knocking in the doors of NBA league. Ball, who went undrafted in 2018, has reportedly received a contract offer from G League side Oklahoma City Blue.

Ball has been working out with the Blue, affiliate of OKC Thunder, and it appears that the coaching staff is pleased with what they saw from the 21-year-old. He is expected to ink the deal soon and take part in the final stretch of the season.

If Ball does well during his time in the league, then his dream of playing in NBA might materialize as soon as the next season. In this case, we would have three Ball brothers playing in the league next season as LiAngelo and Lonzo’s younger brother, LaMelo Ball, is expected to be the top-five pick in this year’s draft.

LiAngelo Ball previously played in a short-lived Junior Basketball Association, which was founded by his father. Prior to that, he spent time with BC Prienai of the Lithuanian Basketball League, where he played 14 games as a pro. Ball averaged 12.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while making 41.5 percent of his three-pointers.

It looks like we won’t see two Ball brothers in the Los Angeles Lakers jersey next season after all. LiAngelo Ball, brother of Lakers’ point guard Lonzo Ball, went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft and it looks like he will have a hard time getting a look from NBA teams.

According to ESPN, the Lakers not only refused to spend a draft pick on the middle Ball brother, but they have also informed him that he will not be getting an invite for their Summer League team.

LiAngelo Ball, who spent a portion of the last season playing professional basketball in Lithuania, decided to enter the 2018 NBA Draft despite the fact that no one expected him to be drafted. He underwent two pre-draft workouts, with Lakers and Golden State Warriors, but reportedly failed to impress on either of them. Ball still hoped that he could get a chance to prove himself to the Lakers in the summer league.

According to the sources around the league, LiAngelo Ball won’t get an offer to play in the Summer League from any other NBA team after Lakers decided to pass on him. His other options will be to return to Europe or look for a spot on NBA G League team.

This won’t sit well with Lonzo and LiAngelo’s father LaVar Ball, who was vocal about his desire to have all of his three sons playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

I want all three boys to play for the Lakers.” – said LaVar recently. “But if that does not happen, I’m telling you the story what’s gonna happen first. If they don’t take Gelo this year, I bring Gelo back here (Vytautas Prienu) to play with Melo for two years. Lonzo will be on his third year and I want to let every NBA team know, that Lonzo is not going to re-sign with the Lakers but will go to any team that will take all three of my boys. That’s my plan.
