LA Rams’ brand new SoFi Stadium is set to have an underwhelming welcome for its inaugural NFL season. According to ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry, the stadium would have “limited or no capacity” for the Rams’ home games in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In case that fans get to attend games, the franchise said that the capacity will be set at 15,000 max compared to 70,000 available seats. Also, fans will be required to wear masks.

Rams also confirmed that season tickets for 2020 will be unavailable in a letter sent to current season-ticket holders. Instead, the previously purchased tickets can be deferred to 2021, or fans can ask for a refund.

Rams are currently set to play their first home game at SoFi Stadium, which reportedly cost $5.5 billion, in Week 1 against Dallas Cowboys on September 13th.

According to reports, a significant number of other NFL teams are leaning towards playing in front of empty stands while the New York Giants and the New York Jets already made this decision. Previously, Philadelphia confirmed that Eagles will have to play with no fans this year due to the city’s decision to limit outdoor gatherings.
