The Dallas Mavericks revealed on Saturday that their star guard, Kyrie Irving, is dealing with a right heel contusion. According to the franchise, there is no timetable for Irving’s return.

Irving was hurt in the second quarter of Friday’s 112-125 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. The 31-year-old was fouled while driving to the basket and fell to the ground. At that point, his teammate Dwight Powell was trying to get a loose ball and ended up falling on Irving’s foot.

Irving thanked fans for their support in a post on X (former Twitter) while adding that he is “feeling better than I was yesterday, and for now, that’s all I can ask for. I’ll be fine.”

Kyrie Irving has been dealing with a lingering right foot issue since the start of the 2023-24 NBA season. This caused him to miss four games up to this point. He has already been ruled out for Monday’s clash against the Memphis Grizzlies.

When available, Irving has been playing well. He is currently averaging 23.0 points alongside 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.2 steals.

The Mavericks are currently third in the Western Conference with a 13-8 record.

Brooklyn Nets will be without their superstar guard Kyrie Irving for this week’s three-game road trip. According to an official announcement on social media, Irving needs to “tend to a family matter” and won’t travel with the rest of the team.

Irving’s absence is another tough blow for the Nets, who are trying to catch the Philadelphia 76ers at the top of the East standings. Brooklyn is already without former MVP Kevin Durant and guard Landry Shamet, while All-Star James Harden is dealing with neck soreness and is questionable for the upcoming games.

Kyrie Irving has been exceptional for the Nets this season, averaging 28.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. The issue for the Nets, however, is that Irving wasn’t exactly reliable so far in 2020/21 and has missed a total of 12 games.

Irving first took an unexplained absence in January, being away from the team for two weeks. He also had issues with the COVID-19 protocol breach and sat out additional four games due to injuries.

Nets, who are currently the No.2 seed with a 29-14 record, will open the road trip against Portland Trail Blazers before visiting Western Conference leaders Utah Jazz. They end their journey in Detroit against the Pistons.

The Brooklyn Nets got some rough news on Sunday after star point guard Kyrie Irving was diagnosed with a medial ligament sprain in his right knee, an injury he suffered in his team’s 113-107 loss to the Washington Wizards.

The scary moment happened in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game. Irving, driving to the hoop, got his right leg twisted up under Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal’s body.

He was forced to leave the game, departing with 29 minutes played and 11 points.

The former Cavaliers and Celtics guard has been Brooklyn’s biggest star this season, averaging 27.4 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game for the middling Nets. Irving has taken up a starring role for his struggling team, which currently finds itself with a 21-27 record and in 7th place in the Eastern Conference.

Irving, who signed a four-year, $142 contract with the Nets this summer, is a six-time All-Star and one of the premier players at his position in the league.

The Australia native will be evaluated next week after seven days of rest. It’s still unknown how much time he will miss with an injury whose time of recovery depends on the severity of the strain.

The Nets will hope that Irving won’t miss too much time with this setback.

The Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Irving found himself hurting on Thursday night in the team’s preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, forcing him to make an early exit.

The game, which was played in Shanghai, China as part of the NBA’s 13th annual China Games series, was marked by the aggravation of a facial injury that forced the Nets’ newly-signed star point guard to leave after only a minute of action.

Irving, who sustained facial fractures during the offseason and began the night wearing a mask to protect his face, caught an inadvertent blow to the face from Rajon Rondo and immediately clutched at his face in pain.

Less than a minute after his season began, he was forced to leave as a precaution to avoid further aggravation of his injury.

Brooklyn has yet to release any more information about Irving’s condition, but the blow didn’t look to be overly serious. However, it remains to be seen if the team will put the brakes on him heading into the season or even force him to miss the team’s regular season opener on Wednesday, October 23rd against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Nets fans will have to hope that Irving didn’t attempt to come back from injury too early, potentially pushing back his debut with the team.

Kyrie Irving’s stint with Brooklyn Nets isn’t off to a good start. The team announced on Wednesday that Irving suffered a facial fracture after being elbowed by a teammate during a pickup game. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday during a scrimmage at Nets’ HSS Training Center.

Following the injury, Irving was taken to the hospital, but that was only a precautionary measure according to Nets’ general manager Sean Marks.

“I wouldn’t even want to speculate at all, but I think it’s just a case of doing our due diligence,” – said Marks.

Fortunately for the Nets, however, Irving injury doesn’t seem to be serious, and he is expected to resume regular basketball activities in the coming days.

Kyrie Irving joined Brooklyn Nets this summer as a free agent alongside Kevin Durant, after spending the two previous seasons with Boston Celtics. With Durant out for the season due to an ACL injury, Irving is expected to be Nets’ leader and lead the team to at least decent playoff run in 2019/20.

Irving averaged 23.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.5 steals for the Nets in 2018/19 while playing a total of 67 games during the regular season.

It looks like Boston Celtics’ All-Star guard Kyrie Irving won’t be exploring the market when he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2019. During an event for Celtics’ season-ticket holders held at TD Garden on Thursday night, Irving announced that he intends to re-sign with Boston next year.

I’ve shared it with some of my teammates as well as the organization as well as everyone else in Boston. If you guys will have me back, I plan on re-signing here next year,” – said the 26-year-old and received a loud round of applause.

Kyrie Irving is entering the fourth year of his five-year, $94 million contract he signed with Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2015. Since the fifth year is a player option, it is expected that Irving declines it and becomes an unrestricted free agent, which would give him the opportunity to sign a maximum contract extension.

It makes sense that Kyrie Irving wants to re-sign with Boston Celtics since he would remain part of one of NBA’s strongest rosters and Eastern Conference winner favorites. Also, he can earn the most money in Boston. If he re-signs with Celtics, Irving can get a five-year deal worth $188 million. In case he would want to go elsewhere, he could only get a four-year, $139 million deal.

Although his first season with Celtics was cut short due to an injury, Irving still showed that why he could establish himself as the unquestionable leader of this team. In 60 games he played in the 2017-18 regular season, he averaged 24.4, 5.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.

Kyrie Irving won’t sign a contract extension with Boston Celtics this summer. According to Irving, who spoke with reporters on Tuesday, he wants to focus on getting healthy for the next NBA season, and integrate himself with the team once again.

Contractually, financially, [an extension] just doesn’t make any sense,” – Irving told reporters when asked about the possibility of him signing a contract extension with the team.

Kyrie Irving is obviously looking towards summer of 2019 when he can opt out from the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent. If he was to sign the extension now, Irving would be in line for a four-year contract worth $107 million. A year from now, he could get $80 million more.

I think you guys can feel my attitude is really just redemption next year. Really integrating myself with our team again and really focus on winning a championship. That’s the only thing I’m really worried about. Until I get to that point, then I can’t really answer any questions. I’m pretty sure management and I will have a talk, but that talk won’t happen now.” – he added.

Kyrie Irving is still recovering from a knee injury that caused him to miss the entire postseason. Before being sidelined in late March, Irving averaged 24.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.

Boston Celtics are currently battling Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, and have been a better opponent than anyone could expect. Celtics entered the playoffs without their two-star players, Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving, but still managed to get this far and NBA Finals now don’t look impossible.

Missing out the series against the Cavs has been especially tough for Kyrie Irving. He was traded to the Celtics by the Cavaliers in 2017 and was de-facto the leader of the team until he went down with a left knee injury in early April. According to Celtics coach Brad Stevens, it’s “killing” Irving that he can’t make a contribution to the team’s efforts, but the good news is that his recovery is going great.

In our sit-downs, or just our casual conversations, he seems to be in a great place,” – said Stevens. “It’s killing him not to be out on the floor. But I think that would be the case, obviously, any time you’re playing this deep into the playoffs, especially in a new place. Other than that, his recovery is going great. We’re excited about that. But he seems to be in a good place.

Despite not being out there on the basketball court, Kyrie Irving has been present at Celtics’ home postseason games providing leadership and guidance to this young roster.
After asking for a trade from Cleveland in summer of 2017, Kyrie Irving landed in Boston who sent Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and Brooklyn Nets 2018 first-round draft pick in the opposite direction.

Irving ended up playing 60 regular season games in his first season with the Celtics, averaging 24.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Boston Celtics have announced on Thursday that their All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving will miss the rest of the season including the playoffs. Irving had a minor surgery on his left knee on March 24 in order to remove the tension that was troubling him since the All-Star break, but he was expected to return at some point in the postseason.

Now, according to the Celtics, Kyrie Irving will have to undergo one more surgery due to a bacterial infection that was discovered on two screws in his patella. The screws were inserted in Irving’s knee in 2015, when suffered a fracture in 2015 NBA Finals, and will now be removed since his patella healed and “remains structurally sound” according to the team. The 26-year-old is expected to fully recover in four to five months.

After the announcement, Kyrie Irving posted a message on his Instagram profile writing “This season was only a snapshot of what’s to come from me.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BhMonavHMi0/?utm_source=ig_embed

Without Kyrie Irving, it is hard to expect that the Boston Celtics will manage to make a deeper playoff run. Before the surgery, he averaged 24.4 points, 5.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game and was the most important factor on the Celtic’s team.

Besides Irving and Gordon Hayward, who suffered a season-ending injury in his first official game for the team, Celtics are currently without guard Marcus Smart as well. Smart had a surgery on his right thumb in March, but the team remains hopeful that he will manage to get back at some point in the first round of the playoffs.

Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving has missed four straight games with knee soreness in March, and it looks like he won’t be back on the court anytime soon. The Celtics issued a statement on their official site on Friday which said that Irving “will tomorrow undergo a minimally invasive procedure to alleviate irritation in his left knee.” The team did not give a timeline for Irving’s return saying that “information will be provided following tomorrow’s procedure.”

Irving first noticed that his knee is flared on March 3, during the loss to the Houston Rockets. He then had to sit out the second half of the game against the Indiana Pacers, before being sidelined. The Boston Celtics are currently on a four-game road trip that begins on Friday in Portland against the Blazers.

Since the Celtics will almost certainly be the number two seed in the Eastern Conference, Irving said to the reporters that he wants to take a longer rest, in hopes that his knee will get better. When that didn’t happen, the 26-year-old point guard decided to ask for a second opinion.

The left knee in which Kyrie Irving feels soreness in the same he injured during the 2015 Finals. He had to undergo a kneecap surgery then and was sidelined for more than three months. This won’t be the same kind of surgery, but still, it is hard to see Irving coming back before the playoffs.

Boston Celtics are currently also without Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart. Smart won’t return for at least six weeks, while Brown could get back for the weekend and play in the game against the Sacramento Kings.
