Multiple reports say that former Arsenal and England international left-back Kieran Gibbs has agreed to join Inter Miami. Gibbs will arrive in the summer once his current deal with West Bromwich Albion expires.

Gibbs was pursued by multiple MLS teams in recent weeks, with the New York Red Bulls and DC United making the player aware of their interest. Still, Inter presented the best offer, which reportedly includes a two-and-a-half-year contract, and convinced the 31-year-old player to come to Miami.

It’s believed that the presence of fellow Englishman Phil Neville, who serves as the team’s head coach, also played a big role in Gibbs’ decision. Neville was hired in January, taking over from Diego Alonso.

Kieran Gibbs spent the first 12 years of his career with Arsenal, playing 230 games for the club during that time and becoming an England international. In 2017, Gibbs left London and signed with WBA, becoming one of the club’s highest-paid players.

While being a solid performer for the club in his first few seasons with Albion, Gibbs failed to make an impact in recent years. He made only 15 appearances in all competitions during 2019-20 while not seeing the field since January of the 2020-21 season.
