Linebacker Kamalei Correa asked Tennessee Titans to trade him on Wednesday, and according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the organization accepted his request.

Correa has been a non-factor for the Titans this season, taking part in only 39 defensive snaps in four games. This didn’t sit well with the 26-year-old linebacker, who now decided to look for playing time somewhere else.  

Garafolo added that the Titans will release Correa if they can’t find a trade partner for him.

Kamalei Correa had an encouraging 2019 season with Titans, finishing the year with career highs all across the board, including 37 tackles, 5.0 sacks, and two pass deflections. However, he didn’t receive an opportunity to build on this in 2020, as the Titans preferred free agent signing Vic Beasley instead of him.

Correa, who was Baltimore Ravens’ second-round pick in 2016, isn’t expected to have trouble finding a new team soon. There are several LB-needy teams across the league, including Denver Broncos, whose defense has been ravaged by injuries.
